  • Aldebaran whiskey was a strong, green alcoholic beverage, favored by Guinan, who kept a bottle behind the bar in Ten Forward. It was a gift from her friend, Jean-Luc Picard. In 2369, Data served Montgomery Scott the drink of Aldebaran whiskey, although he was unsure of its characteristics beyond its green color. Scotty found this beverage quite satisfying and drank most of the bottle himself, although he shared a couple of glasses with Picard. (TNG: "Relics" ) Several barrels of Aldebaran whiskey were kept in storage in several of Deep Space 9's cargo rooms. (DS9: "Explorers", "Distant Voices")

abstract
  • Aldebaran whiskey was a strong, green alcoholic beverage, favored by Guinan, who kept a bottle behind the bar in Ten Forward. It was a gift from her friend, Jean-Luc Picard. In 2369, Data served Montgomery Scott the drink of Aldebaran whiskey, although he was unsure of its characteristics beyond its green color. Scotty found this beverage quite satisfying and drank most of the bottle himself, although he shared a couple of glasses with Picard. (TNG: "Relics" ) In 2371, Quark discovered an empty bottle of Aldebaran whiskey in his brother Rom's room that was taken from Quark's "private stock." (DS9: "Prophet Motive") Several barrels of Aldebaran whiskey were kept in storage in several of Deep Space 9's cargo rooms. (DS9: "Explorers", "Distant Voices") Data's description of the whiskey in "Relics" of "it is green" was a nod from episode writer Ronald D. Moore to Scotty's same description of a drink to the Kelvan Tomar in "By Any Other Name" . (Star Trek Encyclopedia 2nd edition, p. 6) Most likely, the drink in that episode was Aldebaran whiskey as well. The green drink seen in "In a Mirror, Darkly, Part II" was another "tip of the hat" to the green drink seen originally in "By Any Other Name" (citation needed • [ edit]), and was most likely Aldebaran whiskey.
  • Aldebaran whiskey is a green-colored alcoholic beverage. A whiskey from Aldebaran III, the drink appears to be an "acquired taste" to some, and is also a very potent beverage. (DS9 - Prophecy and Change short story: "... Loved I Not Honor More") Captain Jean-Luc Picard once obtained a bottle of Aldebaran whiskey that had been produced around stardate 36455. The whiskey produced on the northern continent that year was considered to be a very good beverage, as there had not been too much rain that year. Captain Picard eventually gave that bottle to Guinan, who brought in on board the USS Enterprise-D and kept it in Ten-Forward for a special occasion. Lieutenant Commander Data served that bottle to Montgomery Scott shortly after Scott had been rescued from the USS Jenolen. By the time Data served the bottle to Scott the label had faded, so he was unable to identify the beverage beyond the fact that it was green. Scott took the bottle to the holodeck, and shared it with Captain Picard, who informed Scott of the origin of the bottle. (TNG episode & novelization: Relics) Quark served Aldebaran whiskey in his bar on Deep Space 9. (DS9 episode: "Prophet Motive", DS9 - Worlds of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine novel: Ferenginar: Satisfaction is Not Guaranteed) Grauq was fond of Aldebaran whiskey. (DS9 novel: Warpath) The "It is green" dialogue between Data and Scotty is a reference to a similiar dialogue used by Scotty in the TOS episode: "By Any Other Name".

(TNG: "Relics") Quark also kept an ample supply of Aldebaran whiskey in his bar on Deep Space 9. (DS9: "Prophet Motive", "Explorers", "Distant Voices") Whiskey from Aldebaran's northern continent was considered to be the best, and 2359 was an excellent vintage. (TNG novelization: Relics) Timothy Sinclair was quite fond of Aldebaran whiskey, one of the few real alcoholic beverages he kept in his quarters aboard the USS Pendragon. (Star Trek: Pendragon: "L'Morte d'Maquis", "Children of the Burning Heart", et. al) On more than one occasion, Drake Mallory used Aldebaran whiskey to drink himself "into oblivion." (Kal-Dixas Spaceport) In 2367, USS Prospect counselor Daniel Radke bet chief medical officer Dr. Justin O'Donovan a bottle of Aldebaran whiskey that chief engineer Mike Greene and engineer Kendall Hunter would be dating within a month. Braun bet two. (Star Trek: The Prospect Chronicles: "Honor Thy Father") Rebecca Davies preferred Aldebaran whiskey, served straight (USS Baldwin: "Family Affair")
