Simon caught a Snapjaw while fishing, and the rest of the school devoured their islands, forcing them to leap into the river. Kevin blasted a couple of Snapjaws with his Zapper as they swam away, but one of the fish managed to swim up to Simon and bite him on the rump.

- Snapjaws are enemies that appear in Donkey Kong Jr. They are enemies that can be summoned by Mario and appear in nearly every level in the game.
- Snapjaw is an enemy in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. They are similar to Lockjaws, except they are pink and cannot be defeated. Instead, they roam around the water, biting the Kongs at first sight, mimicking the behavior of Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!'s Nibbla, with the exception of not waiting. They only appear in two stages, Slime Climb and Clapper's Cavern. In Slime Climb, the water is racing up to the masts, and the Snapjaw attacks the heroes if they fall in. In Clapper's cavern, the rare animal buddy Clapper the Seal is needed to freeze the water so that the Kongs can safely walk across without being bit by Snapjaw.
- The Snapjaw must be infamous in Arcadia, as Vestrum Tobias likens Ayrede's position between Tyren and Corasan as being "between the snapjaw and the gaintbeast". Umber Ianos recalls the story of one of his men being devoured by the "dreaded mermen of the Sea of Songs", although when April suggests it could have been a shark he corrects her by calling it a "blackeyed snapjaw" (in response to her description of a shark as a "big fish with sharp teeth and dead-black eyes, and a large, triangular fin on top"). We cannot be certain if this is a specific variety of Snapjaw, or if it is simply Ianos' characterisitic embellishment.
- Snapjaws are a breed of large turtles found thriving on the eastern shores of Lordamere Lake in Hillsbrad Foothills (formerly Alterac Mountains) and along the long river that runs through the eastern part of the zone near Tarren Mill; they are also found in the Old Hillsbrad Foothills instance in the Caverns of Time.
