  • Cloaking prevents other beings from perceiving the cloaked, making them both invisible and unable to be found through sensing or scrying for their location.
  • Cloaking allows a character to disappear instantaneously. The level affects the character's movement speed, increasing with higher levels and if the character is adjacent to a wall. SP will Drain slowly over time.
  • Some protoss aerospace craft are able to cloak the units around them; examples include the Khalai Arbiter and mothership, while the observer remains hidden through an in-built micro-cloaking field. The Dark Templar are able to cloak themselves through psionic means. This ability has been described as "bending light" and "merging with shadows".
  • NOTE: the upgrades listed only upgrade your cloaking, and nothing else.
  • Psychic Powers: Cloaking 1: ShadowDance I 2: ShadowDance II 3: Stone Wall I 4: Stone Wall II 5: Veiled Face I 6: Veiled Face II 7: IronBrow I 8: IronBrow II 9: Invisibility
  • User with this ability turns the object/subject imperceptible, hiding it from even clairvoyant sight.
  • Cloaking conceals oneself and allows movement in this state. Players from non-thief classes can use an Assassin Cross Card that enables Level 3 Cloaking. Notes: * This skill prevents HP and SP Recovery. * Players in this state can attack and use skills, canceling it in the process. They can also use items in this state without canceling it. * Unlike Hiding, this skill does not prevent the execution of single target skills, nor the damage of the area skills. * The same methods to reveal players in Hiding will work on players under the effects of this skill.
  • Cloaking is an ability used by the Recon class. The recon remains cloaked as long as it doesn't fire, though firing the Nighthawk Pistol wont completely disable the Recon's cloak. A tactic used by Recons with the cloak is sneaking up to an unsuspecting enemy and using the K-Bar Knife.
  • Cloaking is a type of counter-intelligence that makes a unit invisible to line of sight. Cloaked units will be detected by radar but can only be revealed by omni-sensors.
  • Cloaking is a black hat search engine optimization technique in which the content presented to the search engine spider is different to that presented to the user's browser. This is done by delivering content based on the IP addresses or the User-Agent HTTP header of the user requesting the page.
  • The Cloaking skill allows a pilot to use cloaking devices.
  • Adam was able to cloak many things, including his appearance, information about himself, locations and even his ability so it could not be taken, stolen or mimicked. The ability was used consciously in his case, and it was stated that it could sometimes be difficult for him to cloak huge pieces of information for a long amount of time, though he was never shown struggling to do so.
  • Cloaking is a form of equipment in Halo 3. It can be found on many levels in Campaign, but it is not present in Multiplayer. Once activated, it has the same basic function as Active camouflage from the first two games: it renders the user nearly invisible.
  • The ability to hide yourself or someone supernaturaly from others. Leo was using this power to hide Daisy, a mortal woman, from her darklighter boyfriend Alec. He couldn't sense or even see her. Later on, cloaking was used by Gideon, when the Charmed Ones visited Magic School for the first time, to help save it. Also in season 8, Paige Matthews uses this ability on her charge Mikhele to protect her from a group of darklighters that were after, because she was to become a future whitelighter. However due to Billie's and Christy's plan to trap the sisters in their dreams, Mikhele ran out of the manor (un cloaked because paige was knocked out) right into the hands of the darklighters, killing her.

  • Cloaking is a form of equipment in Halo 3. It can be found on many levels in Campaign, but it is not present in Multiplayer. Once activated, it has the same basic function as Active camouflage from the first two games: it renders the user nearly invisible. One notable difference between Cloaking and Active camouflage is that Cloaking is a piece of equipment—it can be activated whenever the player chooses to, whereas Active camouflage is automatically activated when the player collects it. In addition to being more portable, cloaking is also more effective in Halo 3 than Halo: Combat Evolved's Active camouflage—while in Halo: Combat Evolved, you could see the entire body faintly, in Halo 3, only a faint shimmer can be noticed. There is a disadvantage to Cloaking, however—it only lasts for ten seconds, after which its effect fades over the course of an additional two seconds. Like Activate Camouflage, firing a weapon, performing a melee, tossing a grenade, or coming under fire slowly begins to disrupt the effects of invisibility and brings the user into sight. Cloaking also does not mask environmental effects or any shadows cast by the user, so it is less effective on maps where footprints can be left or where shadows can easily be seen. The symbol for the Cloaking on the HUD resembles the Active camouflage power-up from the first two games - a triangle with an eye in the middle. Enemies will not notice you while you are camouflaged as long as you do not do anything to disrupt it, as noted above, or bump into them. If you activate it in plain sight during a battle, enemies will still know your location. It should be noted that Brute Chieftains can occasionally sense your location, turning slowly as you move and attacking if you get within a few feet.

Though cloaking is a protective ability of powerful magical creatures, it is most commonly known as spells that witches use to cloak themselves from demons.
