  • The United Earth Council was the governing body of United Earth. In 2155, when John Frederick Paxton hijacked the verteron array on Mars and threatened to destroy Starfleet Command if all non-humans did not leave the solar system, the Council ordered Enterprise NX-01 to destroy Paxton's facility on Mars, even though doing so could cause a massive explosion which would destroy Utopia Colony. Knowing that, without the verteron array to redirect comets to the ice caps on Mars, they could impact the domed cities, the Council felt that the risk was acceptable to stop Paxton. Fortunately, Captain Archer and his crew were able to take control of the array back from Paxton, without destroying his facility. (ENT: "Terra Prime")
  • The United Earth Council was a high-ranking body in the government of United Earth. In 2155, the United Earth Starfleet determined that it needed to inform the United Earth Council of evidence of Romulan hijackings of vessels of states belonging to the Coalition of Planets. It may be the name for the UP Prime Minister's cabinet, for instance, or it may be the formal name for a parliamentary house.
