- Snarlmane was an undead Gnoll. Before his demise, he led a tribe within Tirisfal Glades before being caught in a conflict involving Varimathras and Sylvanas Windrunner during the Third War. Angered at the Dark Lady's intrusion on their territory, he attempted to defeat her forces in the immediate area, only for her to use one of her Banshees to possess him, ejecting his soul and immediately killing him. With him under her control, she was able to take control over his tribe, which would eventually become known as the Rot Hide Gnolls, and used them in suicide assaults against Varimathras' forces.

He was not converted into a member of the Forsaken when Sylvanas and numerous other undead became free of control from the Lich King, and he moved into Fenris Keep in Silverpine Forest, right outside Tirisfal Glades.
