  • The Void is the nothingness into which the Dark Lords of Chaos were banished after their defeat in the First Battle. Believed to be infinite and beyond the control of any being, it can nonetheless be accessed and manipulated by certain individuals - the Riddling Reaver was one such individual, with a permanently open portal to the Void in the heart of his retreat, which he used to dispose of more troublesome enemies. How the Void was kept from infringing on the material world through such a permanent portal is unknown.

  • The Void is the northernmost of the Forbidden Regions. Once in the void, nothing with physical substance can escape.
  • The void pests also use an area known as The Void to reach Gielinor by directing portals through it, but its relation to the one created by the Spirit Beast is unknown. It may either be the same place, or another one created by the pests. A large portal that serves as a permanent weakness between Gielinor and the Void is found inside an an ancient underground temple, created by Guthix cutting too deep with the elder sword. Smaller portals created by Melville Grayzag can be found on the Pest Control Islands in the Southern Sea.
  • The Void was the title of the featureless seemingly endless desert covering the entire surface of the planet Abafar. It was broken up by small bodies of water and several outposts such as Pons Ora.
  • The Void is a dark, mystical and dangerous area of Wonderland.
  • The Void is the fourth of the dimensions on Minecraft. It has no unique blocks and serves only as a space below the Bedrock layer. If a player in Creative mode digs through the bedrock layer during day, the Void will appear bright blue from above. At night, it appears black. When in the Void, everything is black except when the sun/moon is setting/rising or when lightning strikes. If a player falls for 2.5 seconds, they will start dying. This is one of the two ways to die in Creative mode; the other is the /kill command.
  • The Void is what is between realms and rifts, of nothingness and less. The Void itself is nigh unnavigable to all but the most skilled or gifted creatures- though it is said that the Dread inhabit this space.

  • The Void is any part of the SL world that does not have a simulator. It is what lies beyond the "edge of the world". The Void is not traversable under normal circumstances (one can enter the void when the client is suffering from a poor or dropped connection). It is easy to confuse the void with "Void Sims", because of the name similarity and the fact that both look like empty ocean (usually), but they are not the same thing at all. The distinction is that a void sim does have a simulator running it and can be entered like any other sim. It is deliberately part of the world.
  • The Void was a black hole-like creation in Super Paper Mario. It appeared between universes, being able to suck them up. In places where the void is large, small earthquakes happen frequently. Small earthquakes also happen in Flipside whenever the void grows larger. It was created by Count Bleck with the power of the Chaos Heart. It disappeared when Mario defeated Super Dimentio. Merlon says that Castle Bleck is within the void, or a least a place a lot like it.
  • The Void is what appears to be a rip coming from nowhere in space. It is not clearly visible from Earth during daytime, but you can see it clearly at night as a diamond-like shape in the sky. Inside of The Void is a white space, but objects such as a house or a laptop have been reported to be inside of it. The Void was forgotten by most of humanity after 2012 due to lack of interest and knowledge. To this day, it remains one of the most mysterious and elusive things to ever be in outer space.
  • "The Void" is the twenty-first episode of the Sonic the Hedgehog television series. It was written by Ben Hurst and first aired on 29 October 1994. In the episode, a wizard named Naugus attempts to escape from imprisonment in the Void by using Sonic's speed, leading a terrified Robotnik to become panicked and reckless. Meanwhile, Sonic and Nicole are forced to work together to rescue Sally and Bunnie, allowing them to bond. Sally is reunited with her father, but only for a brief time.
  • The Void is the realm where there is nothing. Those who reside there are called Shades.
  • The Void is one of the two forces fighting for dominion of the world, using Demons to spread its corruption and chaos. If the Word could be considered as a sort of benevolent God, then the Void would be a destructive Devil. The Void achieves its goals by corrupting humans with promises of power and their darkest desires, eventually corrupting them into the demons they become. Ultimately the war between the two ends in a near victory for the Void, causing the Great Wars and the destruction of the Old World, and eventually leading to the forming of the Four Lands and the re-emergence of the Elves and Faerie magic.

  • Dual pirate factions, the Hidden Daggers and the Hutts, patrol the Void, seeking solitary freighters and civilians to destroy and loot. The origin of the name and why the Hidden Daggers and Hutt choose to be at war remains a mystery even today.
  • The Void—as it is referred to as an actual, physical area in space—often takes a form chosen by its "wielder" or current denizens, though it is often seen against a backdrop of pure darkness or celestial atmosphere. The term "Void" is also used in reference to the power to distort, or remove entirely, large parts of space. This is the most present form of the Void in the series.
  • The Void is a character from Sonic the Comic Online. She first, and so far only, appeared in Issue 251's complete story, The Universe Game. The Void is presented as the most dangerous being to ever exist in Maginary World and is now in Sonic the Hedgehog's universe. She plans to obtain the Precioustone to give herself "unlimited power". To achieve this, she is playing a "game of cosmic proportions" to defeat Lumina and seize control of everything.
  • Travel between the plane upon which Norrath exists and The Void plane is possible through gateways, properly known as "rifts," that can exist as stable or unstable wormhole-like apertures in spacetime. Some of these rifts are recurrent but inconsistent, such as the one in the northwestern region of The Commonlands. Others seem to be quite stable, such as those at the base of the Anchor of Bazzul. Smaller tears allowing passage between the planes called Void Storms formed throughout Norrath during the initial invasion and more recently during the return of the forces of The Void.
  • When you die on RuneScape, their is a 5% chance that you will go to a place called The Void instead of going to Lumbridge, Falador or Camelot. When you're in The Void, the Grim Reaper will be there. The Grim Reaper will give you a choice to either continue dying, or to fight him.
  • The Void contained no light or darkness. It also featured no temporal or spatial dimensions (neither "up" nor "down"), but the Tenth Doctor used some spatial language to conceptualise how the Void was "in between" all the universes which were "stacked up against each other". Even time in most senses did not actually exist there. Anyone who entered the Void could choose to let eternity pass them by: they would "exist outside the whole of creation" and would be completely unaffected by events as major as the end of their home universe or the start of another. (TV: Army of Ghosts)
  • The Void was an ethereal, esoteric, infinite, entropic and omnipotent source of power. A universal and detectable power, not unlike the Force, the Void nevertheless differed in that its energy field did was not penetrative and binding, but was instead chaotic and tumultuous. Like the Force, some beings were "tethered" to the Void, which signified a unique connection and powerful union with the energy field. Such individuals were capable of manipulating the Void, and were correspondingly known as Voidborn.
  • Rumor has it that every Halloween, during the hours of 2 AM and 5 AM, there is a void that opens up in reality. It's said that you can take advantage of the Void... for a price. You must stand in front of a mirror in a pitch black room with your gaze fixated on the mirror. The infant will ask you five questions about events that have occurred in your life. His voice will sound like the rubbing of sandpaper and will be devoid of all human emotion. For each question that you answer incorrectly, one of your five senses will be consumed and lost to you forever.
  • The Void was a pocket Zone adjacent to Mobius, which Dr. Robotnik intended to use as a prison for the Knothole Freedom Fighters. During his initial attempt to transport Sir Charles Hedgehog there, he ended up teleporting himself there instead. His nephew Snively would subsequently attempt to put the Void to the use for which Robotnik had intended it, as a prison for his foes, only to be defeated by a liberated Sir Charles and the other Freedom Fighters and have his uncle released. Later it would be revealed that Robotnik claimed to have imprisoned Maximillian Acorn in the Void, while in fact the King was located in the Zone of Silence, which the Freedom Fighters deduced was an attempt to confuse them. It is unknown whether Sonic was referring to that same zone or to the Void when he told H

At an unknown point in history, The Court travelled to Albion and enslaved it, after the inhabitants refused to bow down to them. An unknown time later, William Black was transported into the Void while reading a mysterious tome, causing him to come face to face with Jack of Blades, who attempted to enslave him with the power of an ornate sword called The Sword of Aeons. However, William Black stole the sword and escaped from The Void through unknown means. Many years later, Black returned to the Void to try to remove a wasting illness which had slowly been corrupting him from inside himself. The remnants of the illness he left behind later became the Corruption.

The Void above a world is infinite in height, and can be accessed in creative mode by flying upwards. The void beneath the world can only be accessed in survival mode by going to The End. Destroying the bottom layer of Bedrock will give a player access to the void in creative mode, but it will kill players, regardless of the game mode, after approximately 4 1/2 seconds of falling. • The Void is a high level dungeon added in version 1.16. It is located towards the south-east of the world map. You may only enter if you are carrying a license of the void explorer which you may purchase from Miral and Garok's Workshop for 72 Small Medals. Once entered, you may return to the lowest level of The Void you have visited with the Return spell. Entering The Void this way doesn't require the license. Dungeon levels in the void are regenerated every time you change levels so, if you die, you will be unable to recover any equipment you lose. All of the creatures' levels in the dungeon are initially scaled up by 50 levels (e.g. a level 2 flying frog would become a level 52 flying frog), and then scaled up further by its initial level in the Void every 50 floors (e.g. that level 52 flying frog would become a level 104 flying frog on the 51st floor, then a level 156 flying frog on the 101st floor, and so on). The formula for monster levels is (Level + 50) * (1 + (Floor - 1)/50)with the Floor/50 rounded down, so the multiplier increases only every 50 floors. Stronger monsters spawn as you go down the void, with the first floor spawning putits and yeek like the Puppy Cave, the 40th floor spawning dragons and Shub Niggurath, and so on. This resets on the 51th floor and goes back to spawning only weak monsters, and gradually gets stronger again. Bosses that have yet to be defeated will be randomly generated on the 1st day of every year. So if you are unable to defeat a boss, returning to the void the next year may cause a different one to spawn in its place. In versions prior to the 1.17 beta, monsters in the void can be dominated, and will prove themselves to be very powerful allies. However, a magic device lvl of at least 60 and 2~3 rods of domination is recommended before you try pulling this stunt. capturing monsters with a monster ball will only net you the weaker original versions.

There appears to be a caste-like hierarchy, with Voidmen being the primary intelligent masters and Void Beasts serving a lesser, soldier-like role. It is unclear if are an intermediate caste or simply the appearance of a Voidman when appearing incompletely in the Norrathian plane. Evil Eyes also feature heavily in void influenced areas. It is likely that The Obelisk of Lost Souls (more accurately known as the Tower of Vul) exists in this dimension, as does the Obelisk of Blight.

In most, if not all, instances in which the Void is prevalent, so is the nihilistic attitude of those seeking to make use of its power, often to unmake the world. Oftentimes this starts out as a simple desire for incredible power, but inevitably leads to an intense desire to reduce everything to a state of non-existence. Whether this is due to the Void being sentient, or if it is merely the result of gaining the state of being to make use of such power, is not known. In Final Fantasy V it is told the Void existed before the world, and that the Crystals that sustain the planet of Final Fantasy V were born in the Void and thus created the world. From this it can be drawn that the Void is the original state of the universe from which all life has formed, or the realm of formation. The otherworldly structures associated with the appearance of the Void that seem to transcend time and space, such as the Interdimensional Rift in Final Fantasy V and Memoria in Final Fantasy IX, could thus be explained as the realm of the formation "bleeding" into the human realm. Also akin to this is the Void's power to transform. Those being sucked into the Void do not always transform however, but may become stranded "outside of time". The Void appears as the connective tissue between the different worlds in the Final Fantasy multiverse, as some who were sucked into the Void later pop out in other worlds, most notably, Gilgamesh.
  • The Void is a nightmarish dimension said to exist outside space and time, where terrifying living weapons were wrought to win an ancient and long-since ended war. None have yet ventured into the Void and lived, for mortals would almost certainly be consumed and woven into the endless process of creation. In places where the mystical barriers between Runeterra and the Void have been worn thin, the air feels charged, and fantastical occurrences are the norm. Rivers run with vibrant colors, flowers bloom with incredible perfumes, and living beings experience psychedelic visions and surges in magical power. For a time, such places are wondrous and brimming with miracles, but soon the landscape is twisted into new and deadly forms, and if the Void is able to consume enough biomass to survive, it can grow and evolve into something ferocious and terrifying. __TOC__

Death in this manner results in a message in the chat stating "[Player] fell out of the world". The Void is potentially endless. However, falling into the Void will cause the player's health to be depleted by about 4 hearts per second leading to the player's death in seconds. Even in Creative Mode, the Player still dies without an active regeneration effect. It is possible to endlessly fall, if one is given the regeneration effect indefinitely, by using the /effect command. The two ways to get out of the void are to quickly fly out of it on creative mode, or by using the teleport command. Note that resistance does not resist void damage. Entities (Mobs and Items, excluding the player) entering The Void were formerly deleted in the following tick (as soon as possible). This might have been be due to The Void not being part of a Chunk, although it was most likely a deliberate optimization/crash prevention method implemented by Notch. This has been changed as of snapshot 11w49a, so that Mobs will fall through The Void until they reach Y=-64, at which point they will receive the same damage as a player (4 hearts per second). Items will fall until they reach Y=-64, where they disappear. Blocks cannot be built on the underside of the Bedrock layer, and although Water and Lava appear to flow into it, they will not actually spread and form beneath the lowest layer. This prevents players from descending into The Void safely via swimming.

This effect is multiple: 1. * When you interact with others, you hear their voice calling out their true name, begging for salvation in the throes of torture. 2. * When not interacting with others, you hear the chorus of all beings in the universe, sometimes loud sometimes not. The place that you choose to go is heavily dependent upon where the most screams are coming from. 3. * Close knit people from pre-void activity are often the loudest. Family, friends, enemies... they're askin for it. The void makes you want to kill. There is simply no better way to put it than that. The void can be channeled as a weapon, but it is not all powerful. It works similar to the force, but it always has determinate form. In that sense, if you use the void to "push" an opponent, a visible wave of dark mass would move at them at accelerated speed. If you tried to crush them, darkness would move about to consume them. It can never be invisible, as invisibility does not exist. Void Walkers do not discriminate between Sith, Jedi or any other faction. They want to save everyone. This can affect RP by creating new villains, giving people a new outlet, new storylines. Void Walkers can bring others into the Void and out of it. Within the void, the mind is the limitation. Nothingness can be formed in anyway you like- it can look however you want it to in your mind's eye. The largest problem is if you are not insane, being in a place where reality is distorted to such a degree.
The exact nature of the phenomenon of the Void was not fully understood; it was believed by some that the Void was the anomalous manifestation of the dark matter and energy from the vast vacuum of space. Others believed it to be a metaphysical dimension unto itself, separate from realspace or even Otherspace. Still others believed it referred to all space, the literal distance between all mass, matter and energy in the universe. Another view was held by the Jedi Order and some among the Sith that the Void was referred specifically to the literal absence of life and the Force, a theory which was further supported in that it explained the nature of Void occluses.
  • The Void was the title of the featureless seemingly endless desert covering the entire surface of the planet Abafar. It was broken up by small bodies of water and several outposts such as Pons Ora.
  • Rumor has it that every Halloween, during the hours of 2 AM and 5 AM, there is a void that opens up in reality. It's said that you can take advantage of the Void... for a price. You must stand in front of a mirror in a pitch black room with your gaze fixated on the mirror. If you remain in the room when the moment arrives, you will feel a chill seize your body. Place your right hand on the mirror and whisper, "I accept." If done correctly, in the mirror, there will be a faint image of an infant with no flesh and pitch black eyes. He will stare directly into your soul, and you will be filled with unspeakable terror. You will also hear the buzzing of flies and nervous whispering. The infant will ask you five questions about events that have occurred in your life. His voice will sound like the rubbing of sandpaper and will be devoid of all human emotion. For each question that you answer incorrectly, one of your five senses will be consumed and lost to you forever. For each question that is answered correctly, you will be able to recite the name of someone you know. That person will be found dead the next morning with their flesh removed and their eyes missing.
If you fight him, he will start attacking you with his scythe. The Grim Reaper is a worthy opponent, so don't put your hopes up on beating him easily. Once you get his life down really low, he will admit defeat, and teleport you back to where you died, and you will get all your items back. For defeating the Grim Reaper, he will reward you with one of the following items: * Dragon scimitar (20% chance) * Dragon longsword (20% chance) * Dragon battleaxe (20% chance) * Dragon bones (30-100) (15% chance) * Necromancer's staff (10% chance) * Red ring of death (8% chance) * Amulet of fury (5% chance) * Void rune (5% chance) * Death cape (1% chance) * Grim Reaper's scythe (1% chance)
In this story, Sonic is summoned by Lumina and sent to fight The Void in Necropolis. She easily deflects Sonic's attack with an energy shield, so decides to summon her warrior, Turbo, to fight him himself. When Turbo easily wins and demands a rematch, The Void knocks him out for his impudence and throws him in a cell to be punished. It is later revealed that The Void apeared to Turbo some time after he was freed from the Space Race, promising a way to fulfill his thrill-seeking desires. When The Void "wins" this round of the game, her minions unleash their fury on Lumina's troops. When Sonic and Turbo start trashing her army, The Void begins to unleash her great power to blast everyone "to atoms". Sonic and Turbo's answer is to run up from behind and "punch her out". Lumina is then left to take her back to Maginary World and keep her captive. The Void seems to take in "olde-world" talk, using long words and interjecting her sentences with defunct synonyms. Reception to this on the Message Zone was fairly negative.

It is unknown whether Sonic was referring to that same zone or to the Void when he told Hope Kintobor the story of how Robotnik had banished the Original Freedom Fighters there. Ixis Naugus would later claim to have merged the Void with the Zone of Silence, the united zone eventually becoming the Special Zone under the rule of Feist. As a result of being preoccupied by this task, Naugus neglected his apprentice Geoffrey St. John, who for a time forsook his master in favor of building a life for himself as a result. • Dual pirate factions, the Hidden Daggers and the Hutts, patrol the Void, seeking solitary freighters and civilians to destroy and loot. The origin of the name and why the Hidden Daggers and Hutt choose to be at war remains a mystery even today.
(TV: Army of Ghosts) All material which traveled through the Void absorbed a particular type of harmless background radiation, which the Doctor called Void stuff. The longer a material had been present within the Void, the more "Void stuff" it became saturated with. (TV: Doomsday)
  • Little is known about the history of The Void but it is said to be the place where The Court lived and ruled before man existed. William himself was never seen again either, possibly becoming the being known as Scythe. At the peak of the Old Kingdom of Albion, a great building called the Tattered Spire was constructed to channel massive amounts of Will, which created a rift between Albion and the Void. Taking advantage of this The Corruptor attempted to enter Albion in order to conquer it, but was stopped by three powerful heroes who combined their Will, causing a great explosion that destroyed most of the tower but also caused the collapse of the Old Kingdom and ushered in a dark age for Albion. Many centuries later, a nobleman called Lucien Fairfax rebuilt the tower and opened a new rift between Albion and the Void, causing the Crawler to awaken and spread Darkness across the land. This also resulted in a new invasion a few decades later, in which the lieutenants of the Corruptor, The Temptress and The Devourer, were sent to Albion as the leaders.
