  • In basketball, an assist is attributed to a player who passes the ball to a teammate in a way that leads to a score by field goal, meaning that he or she was "assisting" in the basket. There is some judgment involved in deciding whether a passer should be credited with an assist. An assist can be scored for the passer even if the player who receives the pass makes a basket after dribbling the ball. However, the original definition of an assist did not include such situations, so the comparison of assist statistics across eras is a complex matter.

There can be a maximum of two assists per goal. The primary assist is awarded to the player of the same team who touched the puck before the goal scorer. The secondary assist goes to the player of the same team who touched the puck before the primary assister. If the opposing team gains possession and then loses possession again to the player who scores, there are no "assistants" in the goal and therefore no assists are awarded.

Some Assists perform the same move every time they are summoned, while others may have randomized movesets or tactical selection based on distance to opponent. Assist characters may or may not have their own Life values, but typically can be hit or interrupted by an opponent's attack just like the player character. This feature is often used with ranged attacks by Blasters or Corruptors in PvE teams with a Tanker or Brute, to guarantee those blasts strike the same enemy that that tank is taunting. Assisting can also be used in PvP to ensure a coordinated attack on a single enemy. These techniques are also known as "attacking through" someone. Assisting can also be used to automatically use a protective or healing power on whichever teammate a certain enemy is focused on, without needing to guess who that is or waiting to see who gets hurt. Assisting does not allow you to use targeted powers on yourself or on an enemy that has too much Stealth for you to see.

Man sollte auf jeden Fall heap up maxen. Jobchange erst MAX. Verstanden?!) Cannonball:MAX (Wegen Speedbreaks[mehr zum Speedbreak unten :)]) Mental Sign:4 (Höher unnötig. Verstanden?!) Heap Up:MAX (Wegen Abwehr+Lebenspunkte) Beef Up:MAX (Wegen Schaden) Accuracy:MAX (Nach dem 2. !!!!!!!!ALLE ANDEREN SO LASSEN!!!!!! ^^

  • Assist is a new feature exclusive to Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy.
  • An Assist is a support class in the game. Assists are able to cast heal and cast buffs. Assists are usually supporting characters who can cast and heal supportive spells or go offensive and use a knuckle. Using a two-handed Stick, Assists can cast various buffs to help another character or themselves in the game. By using Knuckles ar-ups, Assists can be self-sufficient. These variants of assists are the first class to acquire an AoE attack (Burst Crack), at level 28. Assist abilities include healing, hammering the ground to damage surrounding foes, raising stats temporarily of players, and resurrecting dead players. At level 60, Assists can become Ringmasters or Billposters. There are several different builds that an assist follows: Full Support: Also known as 'FS' for short, a Full Support Assist is one who spends points almost exclusively on INT. Because of this, their Healing spells are very powerful and their buffs last longer, however, they provide almost no combat support otherwise. Their ability to keep members alive through battles makes this build highly sought after by other players. This build almost exclusively resigns a person to life as a Ringmaster. Area of Effect User: Also known as 'AoE' for short, an Area of Effect User takes advantage of the Assist's Burst Crack skill, the earliest AoE attack accessible by any class at level 28. These Assists usually raise their STR to a moderate range (30-50) and maximize their STA for optimum HP and FP. They then attract a large number of enemies within their attack radius and repeatedly use Burst Crack to kill them all at once, gaining EXP rapidly. Combat Assist: These assists focus on the use of a Knuckle to strike their enemies down. They often focus on moderate STR, STA, and DEX. They use the primary offensive skills known to an Assist to take down their enemies with relative ease and little retaliation. They tend to see less EXP than an AoE, but have the advantage of being more capable of solo-ing for extended periods of time and can take down stronger enemies as opposed to multiple weaker enemies. They often give way to the DEX-based Billposters. Combat Support: Often just referred to as an 'Assist,' these are the general assists that don't dabble in too much of either support or combat, focusing on balance. While they are generally pretty self-sufficient, the lack of focus makes them less useful to a party than an FS, they tend to gain experience slower than an AoE, and they aren't as 1v1 efficient as a Combat Assist.
  • As characters perform attacks, the Assist gauge under their HP bar fills, a section turning orange when it is completely filled. After a few moments of inactivity from the player, their Assist Gauge will start to decrease, so aggressive actions keep the meter filled. Any attack will fill the meter, even if it does not connect. Whenever a character enters EX Mode, the other character's Assist Gauge depletes to zero. Counter-attacking the opponent when low on either Bravery or HP can trigger an Assist Charge, wherein the attacker's Assist Gauge instantly fills by half or all the way, depending on the circumstances. Countering an opponent's Bravery attack when the character's Bravery is low will fill their Assist Gauge halfway. Countering an HP attack while under Near Death status will completely fill the character's Assist Gauge. When an Assist is summoned, the "Assist" tag next to the summoned Assist glows blue if he/she is Assisting the player, and red if he/she is Assisting the opponent (in an early screenshot of the game, the opponent's "Assist" tag glowed yellow instead of red in the final release). A Bravery Assist attack, known in-game as "Assist-B", can be triggered by pressing and , which consumes one assist bar, while HP Assists, known in-game as "Assist-H," are triggered by pressing and , consuming two assist bars. The Assist will react, and appear according to what conditions were in the assist ability customization screen. While an Assist attacks, their blows do not produce EX Force. However, depending on the Assist character's amount of damage dealt, the opponent's EX Force meter is reduced by a proportionate amount. After an Assist attacks, depending on the attack used, one of two things can occur. If the Assist's attack inflicted Wall Rush, the opponent is still vulnerable, and the player can attack them while they are recovering from the attack to press their offensive further. If the Assist's attack began a Chase Sequence, pressing will teleport the player character behind the opponent while they are recovering, allowing them to attack again. These two abilities allow the potential for Assistance attacks and main player attacks to be chained together in different ways.
  • Assistors are players that specialize in passing the ball to a striker or attacker to maximize their damage. Their active skills allow you to choose a player in the line to pass to (except for forward and long passers) and completely fill the action bar of the target, boosting their attack capabilities while allowing them to take their turn immediately. They are a vital component of any offensive forward line.

However, if the batter becomes a baserunner on a dropped third strike and the pitcher is involved in gaining a putout (i.e., he fields the ball and throws to first base), the pitcher is credited with an assist just as any other fielder would be. Assists are an important statistic for outfielders, as a play often occurs when a baserunner on the opposing team attempts to advance on the basepaths when the ball is hit to the outfield (even on a caught fly ball that results in an out; see tag up). It is the outfielder's job to field the ball and make an accurate throw to another fielder who is covering the base before the runner reaches it. The fielder then attempts to tag the runner out. This is especially important if the runner was trying to reach home plate, as this assist prevents the baserunner from scoring a run. Assists are much rarer for outfielders than infielders because the play is harder to make, and because outfielder assist situations occur less often than the traditional ground-ball assist for infielders. However, as a result, outfield assists are worth far more than infield assists, and tell more about an outfielder's throwing arm than infielder assists do. In recent years, some sabermetricians have begun referring to assists by outfielders as baserunner kills. Some sabermetricians are also using baserunner holds as a statistic to measure outfield arms [1]. A baserunner hold occurs when the baserunner is prevented from taking an extra base. This can be combined with baserunner kills for better accuracy, as runners often do not try for an extra base when an outfielder with an excellent arm is playing.
  • Assist is one of the possible "postures" of a pet. A pet set to assist will attack the mobs its master is attacking. It will switch targets after a short period of time if its master also switches targets. Other possible pet postures are Defensive and Passive.
  • In ice hockey, an assist is attributed to up to the two previous players of the scoring team who touched or deflected the puck towards the scoring teammate, meaning that they were "assisting" in the goal. The player(s) who gain an assist point will also have their names announced to the crowd, with the goal scorers name, as to further credit them. In slang parlance, this is also sometimes called an "apple"
  • thumb|right|230px|Eine Kampfsituation mit zwei gerufenen Assists.
  • Level: 250Description: +0.05% per point chance of one of your allies assiting you in combat vs. creatures. (Ally is randomly selected and adds 50% of their Attack, Defense, Damage, Armor, and HP - note this also excludes allies whom are more than 25 levels above you).Stamina: 30Buff Duration: 120 mins. (NOTE: While the description says only 25 levels above you, it seems it doesnt activate for people below you. For example, you're level 100, with a 120 friend and a 80 friend. It will activate for the 120, but not the 80. Might be a bug, might be poor wording. Will update when answer is found)
  • As the name implies, an Assist character is not a playable character, but is summoned to "assist" the playable character by appearing on-screen and performing their own attack independently of the player character; after using the assist, the character then disappears offscreen and usually enters a cooldown period before they can be summoned again. Some Assists perform the same move every time they are summoned, while others may have randomized movesets or tactical selection based on distance to opponent. Assist characters may or may not have their own Life values, but typically can be hit or interrupted by an opponent's attack just like the player character. Most games that feature assists as a universal mechanic allow for the player to select their assist character independently of their main character, with the intention being for the player to select the assist character that best covers their main character's weaknesses. In most games that feature a tag system, such as Marvel vs Capcom 2, the nonactive characters on a player's team will also double as Assist characters as long as their Life values are above 0. In addition, these characters may also be able to perform one of their own Hypers alongside or immediately after the player character's Hyper attack at the cost of extra Power.
