| abstract | - Caleb Sayers Collins (d.1872) was the last member of the Collins family to live at Seaview. Caleb was paranoid and had a morbid fear of strangers. He never married for fear that he might be taken advantage of. He collected and hoarded everything and stipulated in his will that only the Collins family could live in or purchase the Seaview property for 100 years after his death. This stipulation had five years left in 1967, meaning it expired in 1972 (and that Caleb died in 1872). He left enough money to cover the taxes and mortgage of the property. (335) Gerald Conway became possessed by Caleb during a seance held at Seaview, who explained through Gerald that a shadow fell across the house, a shadow that waits in the basement to be lifted.
