She also appeared on television in episodes of ITV Play of the Week and Scales of Justice (both 1963). After returning to Australia in the mid sixties, Salter was a regular (often singing) on the TV variety series The Mavis Brumston Show (in the 1964 pilot, then 1965-1967). She had a stint on the soap Neighbors and running parts on The Restless Years (1977-1981) as teacher Miss Mackenzie and A Country Practice (1983-1990) as matron Hilda Arrowsmith. Her last role was a recurring part on the second season of Return to Treasure Island (2000) as Mrs. Silver, wife of Long John.
