  • [[Category:Grub-dogs]] Red Bulborbs (アカチャッピー) are amongst the most well-known enemies in the Pikmin games, appearing in all games in the series. The Red Bulborb's original name was the Spotty Bulborb, but had its name changed when Olimar found other subspecies with spotted patterns. In Pikmin 3, it is simply named Bulborb, despite the Orange Bulborb also appearing in the game. This nocturnal creature will sleep out in the open, exposing themselves to Pikmin attacks.
  • Red Bulborbs have a minor role in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. They appear on the stage, Distant Planet, as a part of the background, and as a stage hazard. They will randomly appear on the right side of the stage and open their mouths. If a brawler lands in their mouth, the Bulborb will close it and quickly leave the screen, KO'ing the player. However, they may simply stay still and look at the brawlers. Regardless of the situation, they will leave the area after a while and any players on them will be KO'ed if they do not return to the main area.

When Olimar leaves the stage, Red Bulborbs will constantly attack the players that remain on the field. However, characters with good recovery can avoid being attacked by them.
