Biography | - Ritchie Petty is a former NASCAR driver from Randleman, NC. The son of Maurice Petty, Ritchie competed in four Nextel Cup Series and one Craftsman Truck Series event in his career.
Cup Series
Petty's debut came in 1993, when he competed at Talladega. Starting 34th in the field of forty-one, Petty just simply stayed out of trouble to record a solid 25th place run. Petty's final career race came in 1994, when he competed for his father in the July Daytona race. Starting 35th in the field of forty-three, Petty fell victim to overheating issues and finished 41st.
Craftsman Trucks
Petty's lone CTS start came in 1996, when he competed for Rosenblum Racing at Homestead-Miami. Starting 35th in the field of thirty-six, Petty completed all but three laps in route to a solid 17th place finish.
