Remembering his studies in Egyptian Mythology, specifically, the god Atum who emerged from the very same waters. With this in mind, and the theory that life was energy and could not be completely destroyed, John requested that God lift His hand allow John to fade into the waters. This was not due to any hatred towards the Deity, but simply for the fact that he wanted to be free. And, after what seemed to be an intense struggle, John finally emerged. And God gave him the name "Demiurge" which translates to "Artisian" due to his perfecting his own form and chaotic state.
