During the gym battle against Winnona, she evolved into Unfezant against her final Pokémon, Altaria. She learned Giga Impact upon evolving which she used to defeat Altaria which gave Thert the win. After that, she joined Thert's team, she is shown to be very timid in battle, but she protected Aipom after blocking a wild Geodude's Mega Punch and evolved into Kricketune in the process. She is more braver since evolving and loves to battle. Her known moves are Night Slash, X-Scissor, Perish Song and Leech Life, and her ability is Shed Skin as Kricketot and Swarm as Kricketune. - Thert encounters an Oddish who was lost and attacked by bird Pokémon, then Thert protected it and saved Oddish, making it want to join Thert's team. She has strong moves for being unevolved such as Energy Ball. She later evolved into Gloom during a battle against Archie's Sharpedo by breaking free from Ice Fang's grip. She later evolved into Bellossom after choosing to evolve with a Sun Stone. Her known moves are Energy Ball, Attract, Protect and Moonblast and her ability is Chlorophyll. She has a Quiet nature, and her characteristic is "Somewhat of a clown".

- Thert recived Turtwig from Professor Rowan prior to Starting Off Anew Number! He was used against Roark and won with such ease, he evolved into Grotle in Grotle Grotto! during a battle against Mars for trying to kidnap a scientist. It lacked speed and tends to fall off a lot, but regained its speed after learning Rock Climb. He evolved into Torterra along with Prinplup and Monferno who also evolved with him to protect Thert and Summer from being attacked by Team Galactic and learned Earthquake in the process. His known moves are Synthesis, Earthquake, Energy Ball and Rock Climb and his ability is Overgrow. He has a Jolly nature, and his characteristic is "Capable of taking hits".
- Thert received a Chimchar from Professor Birch after he was attacked by a Shroomish near Lillycove City. He later evolved into Monferno just before Sootopolis City. He evolved into Infernape against Wally's Mega Gallade. His known moves are Flamethrower and Dig, and his ability is Blaze.
- Thert recived Mudkip from Professor Birch. He helped Thert to defeat one of the Poochyena and defeated it with Water Gun. In his battle with Roxanne and her Nosepass, Mudkip took severe damage and evolved into Marshtomp, learning Mud Shot in the process which it used to defeat Nosepass with such ease. He later was used against Tate and Liza and refusing to lose and not willing to give up caused him to evolve into Swampert allowing Thert to Mega Evolve him into Mega Swampert defeating Solrock while Exploud took care of Lunatone and giving Thert the win. His known moves are Water Gun, Tackle, Bide, Mud Shot and his ability is Torrent. He has a Brave nature, and his characteristic is "Proud of its power".
- It first appeared as a wild Pokémon in Monkey See, Aipom Do! where it stole Thert's hat, and Thert had to battle it. It was defeated by Turtwig's Tackle attack and with the help of Summer's Starly and Emerald's Espeon, Thert successfully captures Aipom. It evolved into Ambipom after learning Double Hit. Its known moves are Dual Chop, Double Hit, Seed Bomb, Gunk Shot and her ability is Pickup.
- Bebe had a group of Eevee at her house in Hearthome City, and the 4 Eevee were restless for an adventure, so she gave them to Summer, Charloette, Emerald and Thert respectively. Her strong and powerful bond caused her to evolve into Espeon. Her known moves are Quick Attack, Swift, Dig, and Last Resort and her ability is Adaptability as Eevee, and Synchronize as Espeon. She has a Modest nature, and her characteristic is "Mischievious".
- Thert discovered a Claw Fossil in Fossil Hunting Fun! and resurrected it which was an Anorith, she is known to be very curious around people despite being newly revived. After spending a long time and hiatus as Anorith after 6 badges, she finally evolved into Armaldo and gained more moves upon evolving. Her known moves are Metal Claw, Water Gun, Protect and Rock Blast, and her ability is Battle Armor. She has an Adamant nature, and her characteristic is "Highly curious".
- Thert encounters Gulpin while on their way to Mauville City. He finally evolved into Swalot after realizing there was a reason to fight for Thert's sake. His known moves are Sludge, Yawn, Pound and Ice Beam and his ability is Liquid Ooze. He has a Relaxed nature, and his characteristic is "Loves to eat".
- Thert encounters a very shy Whismur who is lonely, cold and hungry. It was revealed that a Trainer had abandoned it due to it being weak, Thert volunteered to become its Trainer which Whismur was happy to do. He evolved into Loudred against its original trainer. He soon evolved into Exploud to protect Thert from Maxie's Camerupt's Overheat by using its own body to shield Thert and triggering its evolution. His known moves are Earthquake, Boomburst, Flamethrower and Surf and his ability is Soundproof. He has a Timid nature, and his characteristic is "Alert to sounds".
- Thert encountered Minun along with Plusle in Cheering Numbers! where they were attacked by a group of wild Toxicroak who were ganging up on them, after Thert saved Minun and Summer rescued Plusle, they both joined Thert and Summer respectively. His known moves are Thunderbolt, Iron Tail, Electro Ball and Helping Hand, and his ability is Minus. He has a Timid nature, and his characteristic is "Likes to run".
