Jennifer became an actress after leaving school and had her first professional television role in Pauline Calf's Wedding Video in 1994. Further roles followed in Clocking Off, The Office, Emmerdale and Drop Dead Gorgeous. In 2003 she was the co-founder of Hennessy and Harman Actor's Agency but she remained with acting and her best known role was as Madeleine Brazendale in the BBC 2007 period drama Lillies. She has played two parts in Coronation Street: DC Kay in September 1997 who backed off from arresting Sally Webster for her assault on Natalie Horrocks after viewing the incident as a domestic case, and the same character returned in January 1999 when Greg Kelly was interviewed, ironically for his assault on Sally. Jennifer returned to the Street in November 2009 playing golf club professional Bernie Sayers.
