Stanclift's debuted in 1955, when he competed at San Mateo. Starting 24th in the field of thirty-four, Stanclift fell out for no explanation (only time that DNF reason has been provided) and finished a disappointing 33rd. Luckily, Stanclift had a much better run at Las Vegas later in the season, completing all but twelve laps and finishing in 10th.

Stanclift's final race came in 1956, when he competed in the twists and turns of Willow Springs Speedway. Starting 34th in the field of thirty-seven, Stanclift fell eight laps down in the race and ended his career with a respectable 22nd place finish.
