  • Sara Ishaq is a Yemeni-Scottish film director and producer. In 2011, she returned to Yemen and spent six months in Sana'a documenting the revolution, while reporting on BBC radio and filming for BBC World Service and Newsnight. In the same year, she made her debut short documentary film Karama Has No Walls, which won several international Best Short Film awards and was nominated for the 2012 BAFTA Scotland New Talents award 2012 and the 2013 One World Media award. Based between Yemen and Egypt, she works as a freelance film director and producer, working alongside independent filmmakers as well as TV; has set up a production house, Mudhouse Films, in Sana'a and is in the process of establishing an Arts centre for Yemeni filmmakers and artists there too.
