  • Peter Blake (born 8th December 1948 in Selkirk) appeared in Coronation Street in April 1995 as businessman Nick Gerrity. Blake worked briefly for a naval tailors after leaving school and sang in a rock band before joining the The Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama in 1966. During the next three years, he appeared on stage and as a television extra before his first major role in Hair in Holland and the West End. A run of musical theatre roles followed in the 1970s in shows such as Jesus Christ, Superstar and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and on television in Z Cars and The Brothers before his first major part as Andy Evol in the Maureen Lipman comedy Agony and a few years later in the starring part of Kirk St Moritz in John Sullivan's comedy Dear John.
