| abstract | - Ian Champion was born in Portsmouth in 1968. Growing up in Sheffield, he trained in Theatre at EAST 15 for three years and then went on to train in TV Acting Technique at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts in London. On Coronation Street he played the Bank Manager who Kirk Sutherland went to see about arranging a loan in March 2006. He made a return to the programme in July 2016 as DC Spencer, involved in the investigation of Kylie Platt's murder. Other credits include roles in At Home with the Braithwaites, Brookside, Heartbeat, Hollyoaks, Cold Feet (speaking the very last line filmed on Granada Television's long-running series), Sinchronicity, The Royal, Emmerdale and Survivors. Ian also specialises in theatre work, voiceover videos, radio advertisements and TV commercials.
