- Saxon es una banda de heavy metal fundada en 1976 en Inglaterra. La banda fue una de las más importantes en NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) (en español: Nueva ola de Heavy Metal britanico), alrededor de los 80s. Saxon antes de llamarse Saxon se llamaba "Son of a Bitch", pero en 1978 se cambio el nombre a Saxon. - Saxon is an English heavy metal band formed in 1976, in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. As one of the leaders of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, they had eight UK Top 40 albums in the 1980s including four UK Top 10 albums and two Top 5 albums. The band also had numerous singles in the UK Singles Chart and chart success all over Europe and Japan, as well as success in the US. During the 1980s Saxon established themselves as one of Europe's biggest metal acts. The band tours regularly and have sold more than 15 million albums worldwide. They are considered as one of the classic metal acts and have influenced many bands such as Metallica, Mötley Crüe and Megadeth.

(COMIC: Woden's Warriors) In 1066, after defeating a Viking raid, the Saxons fought William the Conqueror in the Battle of Hastings and were defeated. The Monk attempted to alter the outcome of this battle, but was stopped when a group of Saxons ran him out of his monastery. Saxons inhabiting Northumbria included Wulnoth, Eldred, Edith and a Saxon hunter. (TV: The Time Meddler)
