After that his mother started to be more protective around Ben. His mother enrolled him in self-defense classes. Ben would get scorned or grounded by her whenever he did something reckless or dangerous. When Ben was fifteen everything he knew changed. Ben came home from school one day to find his mother confronting an older man. Ben stayed in the shadows and listened. He overheard that the man worked for some organization called S.H.T.I. The man frowned after Ben's mother said something and pushed a button on an arm band he had. A flash of light shot out of his shoulder and Ben's mother dropped to the ground, smoke coming out of her chest. The man walked around the room and put things on the wall. As he left the house he pressed another button on his armband and the objects he put on the wall lit up and started counting down from one minute, the man jumped in a speeder and drove off. Ben looked at his mother on the ground and somehow felt that she was alive. He grabbed her and started to run from the house, he barely made it six meters away when the house exploded. He was thrown to the ground and his mother landed on top of him. Ben pushed his mother off him gently and knelt over her. She opened her eyes and smiled, blood trickling from her mouth. She told Ben that she loved him and handed him a datachip. She closed her eyes and died. A few days later the incident Ben disappeared off planet.
