They have no success but eventually thanks to Replicator created clones of the team and Dr. Elizabeth Weir they gain the ability to track the Replicators Aurora-class Warships and apparently summon the USAF Daedalus and the USAF Apollo to deal with them. At the same time the Atlantis team uses their ability to track the Replicator ships to evacuate the human worlds in their paths as the Replicators have begun destroying all human worlds they come across as part of a strategy in their war with the Wraith in an attempt to starve the Wraith. The and the launch attacks against the Replicator fleet with new plasma beam weapons from the and destroy at least seven of around thirty-eight ships the Replicators have before their attacks cause the Replicators to retreat to their homeworld to regroup and rebuild their fleet. McKay and the Wraith scientist fail in their attempts but McKay comes up with a plan to turn all of the Replicators into a super-dense blob of nanites that will render them essentialy inert. In order for this plan to work however the fleet needs to remain in orbit long enough for the nanites in those Replicators to be pulled in. The Daedalus and the Apollo can't hold off a fleet of around thirty ships for long enough so they ask the Wraith for help and manage to get seven hive ships to join the gathering fleet. On the way back to Atlantis the team encounters the Travelers Ancient Warship commanded by Larin and Sheppard manages to convince her to join the fight and she gets five Travelers ships to help including the Ancient Warship. On Atlantis as part of his plan McKay creates a human-form Replicator named FRAN and she informs him that the mass they create will be able to regain control of itself before it reaches the point the nanites bond together too tightly to work anymore and proposes overloading the Replicators ZPMs to cause the mass to implode destroying it and the planet. After ironing out the details the Daedalus, the Apollo and the Travelers Ancient Warship meet up with the rest of the fleet and jump to Asuras.
