Just like many others at the time, he was quickly found out to be Force-sensitive, and brought to the Jedi Temple in Galactic City. In the eyes of his instructors, Mekha soon appeared to be a talented but unbalanced student. When he reached his thirteen, he fancied the idea of being chosen by a famous Jedi master, and sincerely hoped that the famed Count Dooku himself would train him. However, his wish was not satisfied. Instead of it, he was granted Sifo-Dyas as his new master. Throughout the years, the two developed a difficult relationship due to Lelal's frustration and his master’s will of making a grand Knight. During his training under Sifo-Dyas, Mekha often caused many concerns for the Council. While he was an assiduous Padawan, he would often get into murky ventures. His best fiend in the Temple was Alek Pera, a rebellious apprentice who would always carry out bad tricks wherever it was possible. Their "infernal duo" aroused many arguments between elder such as Jorus C'Baoth and Thracia Cho Leem. C'Baoth thought their partnership was dangerous and, for some reason, dubious, while the latter assimilated their behavior to "a normal need for young people to make some noise."
