- Eduard Dietl (21 July 1890 – 23 June 1944) was a veteran of World War I and a German general of World War II. He was one of Adolf Hitler's favorite generals, and a Nazi. He participated in the German invasion of Norway, and commanded forces in Finland and in Eastern Europe. Dietl was killed in plane crash in a 1944.
