Typing too much at a desk that is too high or low can cause arm strain or hurt your wrists. The height should allow your hands and the lower parts of your arms to be roughly straight. Your wrists should not have to stay bent up or down for extended work. A bad angle can contribute to carpel tunnel syndrome or other repetitive strain injuries.

Archer noted that, though they had repeatedly disagreed in the past, T'Pol had never before "taken it out on [his] desk." (ENT: "Damage") In the final draft script of "Damage", T'Pol continued this discussion by telling Archer she would have the desk replaced, though she doesn't say this in the final version of the episode. Child-sized desks could be found in classrooms.
