| abstract | - The CR-10 multi-role gunship was a light atmospheric assault vehicle employed by the Centrality in the Post-Imperial period. Developed during the recovery from the post-Endor economic crisis, the craft lacked multiple measures, such as shields and turbolasers, to reduce weight and costs. Production continued to grow after the election of a conservative government in 15 ABY, as economic minister Vilos Cohaagen sought to improve local industries to help them compete with their foreign rivals. Armed with missiles, the gunship could accommodate twenty-five soldiers, who could fire their weapons from gun mounts affixed to the side of the vehicle. An additional heavy railgun or laser cannon could be added to the nose of the aircraft, which provided extra firepower but also slowed the gunship down. A total of 12,000 CR-10 gunships were produced until 30 ABY, when production was canceled. Most of the completed units saw action in the colonial conflicts of the Centrality, which resulted in the death of circa 70,000 Centran soldiers and the destruction of thousands of vehicles. When Darth Krayt's resurgent Galactic Empire invaded the Centrality in 137 ABY, most of the 2,000 gunships still in use were destroyed.
