They have convinced the Kubaz spy Garindan to join the Separatist cause. Palpatine and his battle droids try to defend their cruiser from Republic forces, but fail. After his last MagnaGuard is destroyed, Palpatine flees in an escape pod. On Gamorr, Mace Windu and Ki-Adi-Mundi discover the ruins of a B'omarr temple. The temple is inflitraited with Gamorreans and Battle Droids. The two Jedi flee to the lower levels of the temple, but discover and duel a hungry Rancor. After the Rancor is defeated, Windu's reinforcements arrive along with Windu's droid R4-P17. R4-P17 plays a holographic transmission from Yoda and Chancellor Valorum that Windu is needed on Tatooine to deal with the Separatist leader Garindan. Windu flies to a Republic Cruiser above Gamorr and meets up with Governor Wilhuff Tarkin. Tarkin tells Windu that the Republic-alligned Wookiee Chewbacca is on Tatooine with a new recruit. Back on Gamorr, the Mandalorian Boba Fett duels with Ki-Adi-Mundi and his clone troopers aboard desert skiffs above a Sarlacc. Many Gamorrean and Weequay pirates are devoured and Boba Fett retreats just as his sail barge is destroyed. On Tatooine, Windu and R4-P17 land in the Dune Sea to avoid attraction. They deal with many Tusken Raiders and find the remains of a Jawa Sandcrawler. The two finally make it to Mos Eisely to pursue Garindan and his droid armies in chase. Chewbacca comes to Windu with the smuggler Han Solo. They trap Garindan at Docking Bay 94 and defeat his droid escorts. Garindan tries to kill Windu by blasting him in his Neimoidian shuttle, but Solo shoots throught the windshield and kills Garindan causing the ship to plummet into the ground. The entire city is now in ruins, but the Republic promise to pay for all damages. Windu gets a distress call from a Republic cruiser about Palpatine's presence aboard the cruiser, but the transmission is cut off by droidekas. Windu flies above Tatooine to find an invasion party awaiting them. Windu and Solo manage to take out all fighters and disable a Banking Clan Ship. The Jedi Interceptor and the Millennium Falcon land in one of the hangars only to find dead bodies of clones. After inspecting the ship, Solo is almost killed by three magna guards. However, Windu kills two of the guards and Solo shoots first at the last guard and a battle droid. Windu is separated from his group when Palpatine shows up and duels Windu. Solo, Chewbacca, and R4-P17 warm up their ships and take off. However, R4 waits for Windu. Palpatine manages to retreat, again and the ship is about to be destroyed. Windu makes it back to the hangar and flies out with his friends just as the Republic Cruiser is blown up. Back on Coruscant, Yoda is preparing to head to Bespin and deal with Boba Fett. He is contacted by Chancellor Valorum that Sidious' lightsaber had been recovered at the remains of a Republic Cruiser. Yoda looks out the window and says, "Closer to the end, this war is coming to. Turning the tide is"....
