  • Little Boy Blue is the titular character in the Mother Goose Stories episode "Boy Blue". Little Boy Blue is very poor, living in the country with his mother and subsisting off the small bits of grain left in the field after the harvest. Despite his mother's objections, Little Boy Blue obtains a job with the Squire, watching over his sheep and cow. His task is to blow the horn if the animals get out into the meadow and corn field. Little Boy Blue falls asleep one day, after tending to his ailing mother all night. When the hornblower explains the reason for his neglect, the squire rewards him and provides Little Boy Blue and his mother with a new home.
