He wears an apron and a baker's hat. He knows dozens of recipes and cooks many dishes. Smurfs are mainly vegetarian, so he never uses meat, but he does use eggs. He always wears his toque blanche (white chef's hat). He is one of the characters who appears in the opening sequence of the 2011 Smurfs movie, carrying two pizzas in his hand that Clumsy knocks over as he passes by him but miraculously return to him unharmed with ice chippings sprinkled on top of them, claiming he created frozen pizza. He later appears with the other Smurfs to defeat Gargamel in New York City. In The Smurfs: A Christmas Carol, Chef Smurf shows up with the decorations for the Christmas tree during the scenario when Grouchy Smurf isn't present to bring them, who trips and falls, causing the box of ornaments to slide across the snow until it stops in front of Clumsy, who sees the star in the box and decides to put it up on the tree in Grouchy's place.
