Los Eternos eran conductos para varias religiones; incluyendo los titanes, la única deidad de Azeroth: Elune y otros ancestros como Cenarius, Ursoc y Ursol, Malorne, Agamaggan, Aviana, Reina Azshara y Lord Xavius, el vudú oscuro dios Loa, señores elementales y antiguos dioses. Eterno o Eternal es el término que se utiliza para muchos de los dioses, diosas, semidioses, deidades, divinidades y otros seres reverenciados que interactuaron en la historia de Azeroth y que han moldeado del mundo.
- The Eternals are five mortals who, centuries ago, were given a nearly immortal life after they volunteered to be "locks" for Zzyzx. As long as there was at least one Eternal alive, Zzyzx could not be opened. This placed them right in the way of the Society of the Evening Star, who hunted them down. The Eternals were each given a guardian shapeshifter who would protect them at all times, and whose very existence was tied to that of their Eternal. The Eternals do not age, and can only be killed by Phoenix, Unicorn, or Dragon magic. The eternals were all tied to the 5 artifacts, especially the Sands of Sanctity and the Font of Immortality, to keep them healthy with rapid healing and to halt their physical aging.
- The Eternals was the name given to the very few Mogwai that choose to be good-hearted and kind when the rest of their species became violent and malicious. The only known Eternal is Gizmo. The Eternals come from the planet which the original Mogwai and Gremlins all come from, and when the majority of their species became evil beasts, the Eternals went into hiding, refusing to obey the Gremlins' cruel-hearted regime after they took over the planet. Some of the Eternals and Gremlins ended up falling to Earth, including Gizmo. Most of the Gremlins died out, and the few remaining Eternals went into hiding like they had on their former planet to avoid captivity or danger to the human race.

The Eternals do not age, and can only be killed by Phoenix, Unicorn, or Dragon magic. The eternals were all tied to the 5 artifacts, especially the Sands of Sanctity and the Font of Immortality, to keep them healthy with rapid healing and to halt their physical aging. After the war with the demons at Zzyzx, Kendra thinks eventually, she may like to become an eternal to live theoretically forever with Bracken, the unicorn. The Sphinx wanted to become a new eternal after the demon's were released, and was permitted to do so.

Eventually, Gremlins were spawned by Gizmo in the small of town of Kingston Falls. The Gremlins were defeated, but more were spawned not long after and in New York at the Clamp towers it was almost destroyed by the destructive creatures, if not for Gizmo and his human allies.
