Occasional dramatic turns included Tomorrow Never Dies and Mrs. Brown, both opposite Judi Dench.

His sole appearance on Coronation Street was in May 1968 where he played Victor Finlay, the superintendent registrar at the wedding of Dennis Tanner and Jenny Sutton. He also appeared in two separate roles in the Street spin-off Pardon the Expression.
