  • Jay Leno began his career in nightclubs, where he worked 300 nights a year before hitting it big in 1992 with his own late-night talk show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (1992). By that time Leno had appeared on television and acted in a few films, such as American Hot Wax (1978), but hit paydirt with his late-night television appearances (he made a record number of visits to Late Night with David Letterman [1982]). For several years, he served as Johnny Carson's permanent guest host on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson (1962). A big, sweet guy with a very good comedy routine, Leno vied with David Letterman to inherit Carson's seat when Johnny retired in 1992. Leno's victory was well-publicized, but empty, though he did gain a measure of revenge when his show beat Letterman's for the Emmy in 1995. Though he consistently lost in the ratings to Letterman except on special occasions, like Hugh Grant's first TV appearance after his encounter with Divine Brown, Leno surged ahead in 1996, as CBS plunged further into oblivion.

He has compartments in the cavernous lower half of his head which hold various types of convenience items and knick-knacks. Leno has let it be known that he thinks of himself as a social liberal, a fiscal conservative, and a power bottom. Leno is one of the few recipients of Californias rare laughing black slave ownership clause, alowing the use of a handsome pleasant negro for the purpouses of creating the guise of humor in an applicable situation. The vast majority of Leno's segments ("Headlines," "Jaywalking") are based in something called schadenfreude, which is a Nazi word invented by Nazis, which means Jay Leno is a Nazi. There is a long-standing rumor in Hollywood circles that Leno sold his soul to the devil. These rumors are false, for Jay Leno has no soul. If Greed and Backstabbing cheated on their spouses and had a child, that child would be Jay Leno. Or Barry Manilow. MANILOW!!! Another rumour is that Jay's overly large chin is centre of all evil, douchebaginess and unhappiness in the world; he got it as a christmas present from The Baby Satan. Also, he totally sucks.

Jesus appears on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in "I Dream of Jesus". Dave Coulier was his other guest. Leno made a live-action appearance in "We Love You, Conrad" on the set of The Tonight Show, doing a snappy monologue about Lauren Conrad's relationship with Brian Griffin. In the DVD cut of "Friends of Peter G", a clean and sober Peter and his three friends take a critical view of Jay Leno's humor. Jeff and Brenda Quagmire watch The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in "Screams of Silence: The Story of Brenda Q.". He was part of a joke as the number one thing a parent doesn't want to hear from their child as part of The Top Ten Things You Don't Want to Hear From Your Child that Stewie Griffin declared on Late Show with David Letterman when Stewie questioned "Why can't you get a show at 10pm like Leno? " In the DVD cut of "And Then There Were Fewer", Herbert and Seamus talk about how great CBS is with their shows, but they prefer to watch Leno instead of Letterman. Herbert also points out that Leno coming back was great because he did not find Conan funny at all. Stewie claims he can hear the jokes that Jay will do when Mayor Adam West is arrested for murder in "12 and a Half Angry Men". But when pushed by Brian to explain the jokes, he threatens to fake being allergic so the family would have to get rid of Brian and Brian retreats. Leno provides his own voice in "Underage Peter" when the guys try to go to a neighboring town after Mayor Adam West raises the drinking age in Quahog to fifty. There, they find that Mayor Leno has prohibited alcohol sales except for people dressed head-to-toe in jeans. Unless indicated otherwise, Leno is impersonated by Seth MacFarlane.
  • Jay Leno (born April 28, 1950) is a second-rate American stand-up comedian who stole the hosting job of The Tonight Show from David Letterman, even after Johnny Carson and NBC agreed years in advance that Letterman would take over the Tonight Show mantle. Due to Leno's quick thinking, clever maneuvering, and with the help of Helen Kushnick (one of the most notorious show business agent/producers in Hollywood history) Leno became the King of Late Night. In late 2009, Leno screwed over his own family relative (Conan O'Brien from Late Night with Conan O'Brien) by luring him to Los Angeles to take over the Tonight Show spot while Leno worked his prime-time show; for some strange, eerie reason that resembles the JFK conspiracy, NBC fired O'Brien and put Leno back as The Tonight Show host within days. Leno is now the "once leering late-night leader of talk show hosts," renowned for his ability to giggle and sneer at the same time and for telling the longest Clinton joke in history has, coincidentally, become historical fodder. It is argued that his greatest achievement in show business is being NBC Universal's Biggest Fucking Kiss ass. Leno tells the same Clinton joke to an enthusiastic audience of Hollywood tourists for twenty years, his Schwarzenegger impressions grow more tiresome with age, and his entourage of eccentric noobs (Tom Green, Ross "The Intern" Matthews, Gilbert Gottfried) are nothing more than distractions back to the days of burlesque. He is also a burglar of comedy material (i.e. The Howard Stern Show) that rivals the hit-and-run death squads of crime lord Denis Leary.
  • From 1992 to 2009, Leno was the host of NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Beginning in September 2009, Leno started a primetime talk show, titled The Jay Leno Show, which aired weeknights at 10:00 p.m., also on NBC. After The Jay Leno Show was canceled in January 2010 amid a host controversy, Leno returned to host The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on March 1, 2010. In the 2001 The Fairly OddParents episode "Chin Up!", he began voicing the Crimson Chin, who is a blatant parody of Leno's infamously large chin. The Chin, whose real name is Charles Hampton Indigo was also a late-night talk show host when a radioactive guest bit his chin, further parodying Leno. In some of the Chin's later appearances, other versions of the hero would be introduced. Except for when the in-universe Adam West was cast as the Chin for a movie based on the character, Leno voiced all other versions of the Chin, ranging from decade counterparts throughout the Chin's history, to his evil counterpart, the Nega-Chin, who appeared in three episodes. In the episode "Lights, Camera, Adam", Leno voiced himself interviewing Britney Britney, as the Chin crashed through his set.
