The Glyrhond River flows into the Glyrhond Falls. (DS9 - Prophecy and Change short story: "... Loved I Not Honor More") The river is known for having nerak flowers growing along its banks. (DS9 - Mission Gamma novel: Cathedral) During the Occupation of Bajor, the Cardassians diverted the course of the river for it to be used as part of their mining operations. This diversion meant the Navot/Paqu border was moved twenty kilometers west into Navot territory. Under the treaty, Tetrarch Varis Sul of the Paqu claimed this new land for her people, although the Navot leader Woban believed the treaty did allow the Paqu to take Navot land. During negotiations on Deep Space 9 Varis made a proposal to return the Navot's land in exchange for free trade access on both sides of the river. (DS9 episode: "The Storyteller") In 2372, the Wrath of the Prophets infected several rintas in Paqu territory and soon spread to Navot territory by means of the river.
