| Text | - Long hunted and feared as monsters, these giants have only recently been recognized as sentient and, in their own way, civilized. They speak the human tongue and band together in loose tribes. However, there are still many, many trolls that simply wander the landscape preying on smaller, more vulnerable travelers, particularly the rarely sighted great Troll. Trolls are generally agreed to be the strongest species to walk on two legs.
- The brutish troll takes perverted pleasure in hiding beneath bridges so it can terrorize the unsuspecting traveler. Fortunately, trolls are relatively weak and they lack endurance, so they pose only a moderate threat when encountered.
- In the district where I was raised, it was not uncommon for Trolls to waylay an occasional traveler. Several times I have seen such brigands after justice had dealt with them, hanging from roadside crosses. Until I visited the Shrine of Compassion, therefore, it had not occurred to me how nearly civilized the Troll people are. After all, they use civilized weapons , wear tatters of clothing or hide, and speak a rough form of the same tongue which we speak. Curiosity next drove me to visit the Lycaeum on Verity Isle, where I learned that the Trolls had once been a mountain-dwelling people. Over recorded history, however, they have always moved closer to civilization - today, they are commonly found along roads and under bridges. I became convinced that the Trolls were fit candidates for the Way of the Avatar. My servitors and I traveled the roads of Britannia for two years, recruiting Trolls for our great Abyssal Experiment. Many of the monster forms rejected us, and some we were forced to slay in self-defense. However, I am glad to report that the Trolls accepted our ways and now constitute an important section of our community. It has been difficult for many to accept the presence of the Trolls. The Knights were trained from youth to slay such creatures on sight, and Goblins are a favorite food of Trolls. Nevertheless, the Virtues have triumphed.
- This brutish creature is the bane of all travelers. Many tales relate how trolls hide beneath bridges in order to terrorize and prey upon all those who would cross it. The wise traveller would do well to exercise caution when crossing any bridge, especially those one may come across in the wilderness, far from the security of a city.

- Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and the others are heading back to Ice Castle, getting the map, and off to see the trolls as they go into the woods and rest for a while, but then Baby Teeth flies up and spots Jack Frost hiding on the tree because he wants to make sure that Elsa is okay as he loves her and cares about her. Suddenly, Vanellope spooks him, causing him to fall into the ground and end up covered in snow. She laughs because it's funny. Then, everyone else sees him, and Anna asks him why he hid on the tree. So, Jack Frost tells her, but Elsa says that he was going to meet the trolls. It makes him blush, then he gets hit by a snowball from Anna to snap him out. As they are off into the woods, they stop and hear a howling noise, so Kristoff goes to see what it is. He is about to go on a sleigh when Vanellope screams because a wolf is trying to strike her, so Jack uses his staff to zap it, but more of them come out. Kristoff wants Snowflake and Sven to move faster as they are chased by a wolf, while Elsa and Jack use their power to fight off another. As they are about to fall off the cliff, they fly off and Vanellope uses her power to "glitch" over and land on the snowy ground. They then stop and look at a wolf stopping then running off. They are happy thanks to Vanellope. As they are about to cross the lake, Jack and Elsa use their power to make a bridge. They smile at each other, making Anna feel weird. They then cross over it and made it to the trolls' place. When they meet the trolls, they also meet Kristoff's grandpa, Pabbie the leader of the trolls. As Elsa tells him about the Bluemoon stone, he looks at it and gives them the answer. The stone will be used to save everyone from the game world, but in order to use it, they need to find the five star diamonds. He shows what they look like using the colored cloud. Not only the cloud shows the five star diamonds, it also shows where they are - at an abandoned castle called the Icy Mahal. It also shows that the castle is guarded by a terrifying yeti named Bumbule. The group says that they can find it and come back on time. The trolls wish them a good luck as they are off to find it.

In "Smurfette's Dancing Shoes", a treasure hunting imp was seeking the lost treasure of the ancient trolls, but upon finding it, he was prevented from obtaining it by the Spirit Of The Ancient Trolls. In "A Mere Truffle", a different tribe of pig-like trolls known as Truffle Trolls appeared who captured the Smurfs for "stealing" their truffles. In "The Grouchiest Game In Town", two trolls who lived under a bridge were magically imprisoned by the Game Master for his twisted board game. They were later freed along with the other prisoners thanks to Grouchy Smurf. In "Brainy's Smarty Party", Papa Smurf relates to the Smurflings how one time he wanted to attend an old troll's party but was not allowed to do so because he was not an old troll, though eventually he learned how to have fun with his friends in other ways. In "The Tallest Smurf", an apparent troll foodstuff known as a Troll Muffin was mentioned by a pair of Gnomes. In "Snappy's Way", a reclusive troll named Aloysius J. - The Trolls are a street gang of drug addicts who have mutated through the abuse of a dangerous drug called Superadine. These mutations grant them superhuman strength and resistance, at the price of turning them into furious monsters. This low level villain group can be fought in City of Heores and City of Villains between levels 10 and 20, although it does not spawn in any zone in the Rogue Isles and is only available as part of missions.
