The most popular pets are noted for their loyal or playful characteristics, for their attractive appearance, for their song. Pets generally seem to provide their owners with non-trivial health benefits; keeping pets has been shown to help remove stress. There is now a medically approved class of 'therapy animals', mostly dogs, who are brought to visit confined humans (some illnesses, age related disabilities, etc). Walking a dog can also provide its owner (as well as the dog) with exercise, fresh air, and social interaction.

  • Commodore's Personal Electronic Transactor, or PET, was part of the famous "1977 trinity" - the first commercially successful personal computers, along with the Apple II and the TRS-80. Its low cost made it a hit at first; but Commodore had production issues and they remained back-ordered for months. It was also a very weak hardware, and the keyboard was utter garbage. As the PET's sales declined, Commodore quickly planned a successor, which turned out to be the mediocre VIC-20. After that, they finally redeemed themselves with the Commodore 64.

  • Pet is a common name for any summonable companion of a player. Pets autonomously and independently attack enemies (or otherwise assist in battle) while not being under the player's direct control. In fact, most pets act as monsters, except for they are fighting on player's side. Pets are sometimes called minions, but that name is generally reserved for monsters accompanying a powerful enemy. Companions, summonables and summons are also common terms for pets. In Diablo III, pets of other players are displayed transparent and less visible.

  • A pet is an animal kept for companionship and enjoyment, as opposed to livestock, laboratory animals, working animals or sport animals, etc which are kept for economic reasons.
  • Currently (as of R23 in October 2015), every creature that you can find in any Creativerse-world can be tamed, including Keepas, Things and Rockzillas. Pets are all solely (very useful) "livestock" for now, especially to get a constant supply of Arcstones, Tourmaline, Eggs (that can only be obtained from tamed Chizzards (the same goes for Blizzard Chizzard Eggs) or Pigsy Droppings (only obtainable from Pet Pigsies). Attention: most likely because of a bug currently pets that you set to "wander" might vanish while you're away (logged off or busy elsewhere out of sight), no matter how much you have tended to them, even after they have just eaten or would be ready to be harvested. So always set them to "stay" to keep them for now, until the issue will be fixed.
  • A pet is any creature that a player can summon or tame, like companions and mounts. * Combat pets are companions that a player can partially control to aid them in battle. The classes most associated with combat pets are the warlock and hunter, although other classes (mage, druid, shaman, priest, and death knight) can gain access to them. * Guardian pets are creatures that can be summoned, but cannot be controlled. They react as combat pets do when set to Aggressive and Follow. * Companions (also called small pets, non-combat pets, follow pets, or vanity pets) are lesser creatures that only provide aesthetic appeal and do not directly affect combat. * Mounts are usually creature which are rideable. You may have one of each of these kinds summoned at the same time. Engineers can have two guardian pets summoned at once, a [Gnomish Battle Chicken] and a dragonling.

  • A pet is an animal that is kept (mostly by humans) for companionship and enjoyment, as opposed to livestock, which are kept for economic reasons. The most popular are noted for their loyal or playful characteristics or their attractive appearance or song. The term "pet" may also be applied to humans, usually in an endearing way by a lover, significant other, or partner. Calling another person a pet, though, can just as easily be considered an insult (see "plaything"). While in theory one could keep any animal as a pet, in practice a small number of species of mammals, especially dogs and cats, and other animals such as birds have dominated the pet scene for a very long time. Fish have joined them more recently. Many of these are domesticated while others, are often considered exotic pets such as reptiles. The glofish, a genetically modified zebrafish with a bright red fluorescent color is the first genetically modified (GM) animal to be engineered as a pet. Pets can provide their owners with many health benefits. The keeping of pets has been shown to help remove stress. Walking a dog can also provide its owner (as well as the dog!) with exercise, fresh air, and the opportunity for social interaction. A pet can be acquired from a pet store, an animal shelter, a breeder, and sometimes from people who have too many due to births. Sometimes people treat their pets like they are children, especially when the people do not have children or their children are grown up. Some animal welfare organisations have proposed that the term "companion animal" be used instead of "pet". The captive gorilla Koko is one of few examples of a non-human animal which has had a pet. Koko's first pet was a kitten named All Ball.
  • Other than being adorable and following players around, pets provide passive stat bonuses which increase as they gain levels. A player may have as many pets as they can collect, but they only receive the passive stat bonuses from the equipped pet. Sidekicks can also equip and benefit from pets.
  • These pets are obtained as an in-game reward for completing a dungeon, quest, or other such tasks. Regular pets eat food and must be fed regularly. Pets have a maximum of 10 HP, and a maximum item power of 120.
  • A Pet is an animal in Age of Empires III or its expansions, that can be controlled by the player. One of the more common pets in the game is the Dog, as an Explorer Dog is available to all Explorers through the Home City, apart from the Spanish, who can train five War Dogs instead. War Chiefs can train pet Coyotes, Wolves or Jaguars, with the right Home City card, and Indian Monks can train pet Tigers. There's also other pets, usually found through Treasures or sent from the Home City, available to all civilizations. The Warchiefs expansion enables civilisations added in the pack to use their explorer to tame treasure guardians, which when an animal counts as a pet.
Some pets are attackable by enemies and/or killable, while others are ignored by enemies for targeting purposes and have no Life bar. Most pets block enemy pathing, and therefore may lock their target in combat, taking hits on themselves while keeping their master safe. Unattackable pets, however, very rarely if ever block enemy path. In Diablo III, killable pets' Toughness depends on that of their master, and they take greatly reduced damage from area-of-effect attacks, as well as any attacks that are supposed to be avoided by the player. All pets have their own AI, and usually attack the closest target they see. As enemies generally do so as well, melee pets are often used as a meat shield for their ranged-attacking master. In Diablo III, monsters tend to attack their master's current target, unless it is somehow out of their reach. Pets tend to stay close to their master. If the latter ventures too far, pets can teleport to their current location, although immobile summonables lack this ability, and will stay where summoned until the location is exited, or until they are killed or their timer expires. Followers and Hirelings are not necessarily pets, and should not be considered as such, though they share similarities with pets in the facts that they have their own AI, and also fall in battle if their master dies. Necromancers, Druids and Witch Doctors are the three classes that have an opportunity to deal a major part of their damage through pets, although other classes may sometimes make a build focused on pets. In Diablo III, pets of other players are displayed transparent and less visible. Pets can be unsummoned at will (for example, if player does not want them to attract the attention of idle monsters). In Diablo II, it is done through the Unsummon skill, which any player gains if they have a skill that allows summoning pets. In Diablo III, unless pets are passively summoned, one can dismiss them by right-clicking their portrait (upper left corner of the screen) and selecting the appropriate line. Pets almost always despawn and die if their master is killed.

  • A pet is any item that an agent deploys which functions autonomously. This includes most of the robotics' arsenal, as well as a few recon and assault devices. Some pets have a limited duration before they die. This length can be increased with a device upgrade including an "l" in the upgrade suffix (10% longer pet lifespan per l) or through some robotics skills. Maximum pet health can be increased with a device upgrade including a "v" in the upgrade suffix (4% more health per v) or through some robotics skills.

  • The Beastmaster, Summoner, and Puppetmaster jobs from Final Fantasy XI, as well as the Arcanist class and it's Summoner jobstone from Final Fantasy XIV are considered pet classes, relying on summoning monsters or taking control of monsters to battle. Final Fantasy XI's Dragoon job can also summon a Wyvern pet to aid in battles. Technically, the Luopan that Geomancers can conjure with Geo-spells also counts as a pet, although it radiates an aura instead of attacking directly. The canceled Necromancer that was planned for the Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion also would have been a pet job that used undead pets. While Final Fantasy XI does not feature "vanity" pets, Final Fantasy XIV has several "minions" that can follow the player around regardless of class, such as 'baby' versions of several creatures, ranging from Chocobos to Behemoths.

  • Pets can't be killed. When their health is reduced to zero they will not fight, but instead follow the player around until they are healed. Pets, like the hero, have health, contain an inventory, can level up, can consume potions, have stats, and can be healed by Dreya the Healer (Lvl 1), as well as certain fountains. One of the many uses for pets is as an extra inventory. If the hero's inventory is full, he or she may choose to transfer items to the pet for safekeeping or for selling. This effectively doubles the inventory space the player posesses. This article is a . You can help My English Wiki by expanding it. Pets can change shape by eating fish. • Pets are companions that follow player characters around in Darkeden. They can grant you additional attribute bonuses based on their level, and they can be used loot bodies and remove monsters heads (for which they gain additional experience). Remaining online as long as the pet is summoned also grants it experience. Be aware that pets must be fed or else they will die. Reviving a pet costs 900k. There are currently 4 different pets in Darkedens; one that is universal among the races, and three that are race-dependent. 1. Wolfdogs Wolfdogs are the most common pets, as all 3 races can have them. Obtaining a wolfdog: Find the appropriate merchant in your starting area in Perona - the one that sells healing and miscellaneous items. Buy meat from them, making sure to buy more than one, as one piece of meat may not be enough to tame a wolfdog (recommended 27 mini-meat). Now travel around Perona outside your starting area until you find a wolfdog, which will look like a small, grey puppy. Right-click the meat from your inventory and drop it directly onto the wolfdog. (If it falls on the floor, then you are either too far from the wolfdog or you didn't drop the meat directly on it). Continue to feed the wolfdog until it disappears. You should now have a wolfdog collar in your inventory! Wolfdog abilities: After the wolfdog reaches level 10, you can use a red drop to assign to it an attribute bonus. Possibities include increases in strength (STR), intelligence (INT), dexterity (DEX), damage (DMG), attack speed, vision, defense (DEF), protection (PRO), critical hit damage, hitpoints (HP), mana points (MP; slayers only), energy points (EP; ousters only), or all three primary attributes (STR, DEX, INT). At level 11, a small star will appear on the wolfdog's status bar. Click on it for your pet to have a chance to gain the ability to loot heads. It may not work the first time, but you get one additional try per level. After level 49, they can gain one additional attribute bonus with a red bird. 2. Stirge Stirges are pets that only vampires can obtain. They are based off of mythical mosquito-like creatures. How to obtain: Once you reach level 40 as a vampire, speak to Capitinni at Castle Limbo, choosing the option that asks about obtaining a Stirge (or a pet quest). Capitinni will assign a quest that involves hunting 80 of a particular type of monster (level-dependent) within an hour. Completing the quest will grant your vampire a Stirge. Try completing the quest at lower levels as certain mosters can be very random and difficult to find or may have a low spawn rate at higher levels. Stirge abilities: Stirges occassionally steal small amounts of HP. At level 30, they can obtain an attribute bonus (see above for possibilities). 3. Pixies Pixies are pets that only ousters can obtain. They are based off of the small, flying creatures found in folklore. How to obtain: Once you reach level 40 as an ouster, speak to the appropriate NPC in the Ouster Village, choosing the option that asks about obtaining a Pixie (or a pet quest). The NPC will assign a quest that involves hunting 80 particular monsters of the same type (level-dependent) within an hour. Completing the quest will grant your ouster a Pixie. Try completing the quest at lower levels as certain mosters can be very random and difficult to find or may have a low spawn rate at higher levels. Pixie abilities: Pixies occassionally steal small amounts of EP. At level 30, they can obtain an attribute bonus (see above for possibilities). 4. Centaurs Centaurs are slayer-only pets. They are probably based off of the Cromwell tank used by Britain in World War II. How to obtain: Once you reach level 40 as an slayer, head to the second floor of Knight's Guild in the slayer's city. Ask the appropriate NPC there about obtaining a Centaur (or a pet quest). The NPC will assign a quest that involves hunting 80 particular monsters of the same type (level-dependent) within an hour. Completing the quest will grant your slayer a Centaur. Try completing the quest at lower levels as certain mosters can be very random and difficult to find or may have a low spawn rate at higher levels. Centaur abilities: Centaurs have the ability to attack. At level 30, they can obtain an attribute bonus (see above for possibilities).
  • A pet is a non-combat NPC loyal to a player that generally requires a certain level in Summoning to own. Typically, a player must raise a pet to maturity by having it follow them. Many pets can also be fed and interacted with. Most pets do not serve a purpose other than decoration, however, some pets are used in quests and have other additional benefits. A player may only have one pet, familiar, or NPC (e.g. Zanik, or the Zanaris choir) following them at one time. Players can manage pets while active through the familiar interface, by using food on them, by left-clicking, and with direct interaction by right-clicking. Pets that exist as objects may be stored in the bank or inventory, and follow the player when dropped. Other pets are automatically stored in the Customisations interface and can be called to follow the player at any time. Players can store up to 25 pets in the Menagerie of a player-owned house (with the highest-level pet houses). Unlike familiars, pets may be brought into Summoning-free zones.
  • Pets are mobs that can be made to follow a player character. When Grouped, they grant a bonus to Experience according to their level, with lower-level pets giving the largest bonus. Pets can be found in various places, including dedicated Pet shops. A few pets can be found roaming in the world and, through appropriate commands, can be made to follow. In addition, Horses can be led and grouped in the same way, granting Exp bonuses according to their level. Pets bought in shops can be named (Eg. "buy cat bob") and will the respond to commands invoking that name.

  • The Beastmaster is the archetypical pet-user class. Beastmasters have the ability to Control a variety of wildlife in Random Kingdom. Their ability usually does not extend to humanoid or 'magical' beings, but does include a variety of animals and fantastic animals. In order to obtain a pet, a weakened monster must be caught using the Beastmaster ability and will then be stored in a Capsule (although towns often offer bestiaries for the Beastmaster's monsters to be kept in until he or she has need of them). Beastmasters recurringly have the unique ability to both level their pets to cause them to evolve into different forms, as well as breed pets with each other to create unique new creatures that inherit the characteristics of their parents.
  • Pets gain experience points by feeding them food when they are hungry and gain even more experience from giving them the food they wish for. Feeding them is also required to keep the pet alive, but "playing" with the pet is a temporary measure that can be used when feeding the pet is not an option. * Higher Level of pets require higher reputation in order to be equipped, and may also require rarer items to evolve. * The Pet Trainer 's Tip is the most important issue in evolution. To see the hint ,remove your pet and leave it in the inventory, then talk to the Animal Trainer in the Item Shop . Select option # 6 ( You'll get tips on ingredients for evolution and can choose the class of your pet ) . * If you have a colored pet, pet trainer will not give you the hint. You can use the tip of normal pets as the same . * Some believe that the order of items in the evolution box affects the percentage of success. Which I think , in my personal opinion , it is true . * The first recipe in Wikia, is the most suggested for evolution, since more player claim it has better rate of success.
  • A Pet on FarmVille is similar to an animal, being animated and able to wander on a farm. They are slightly different, however, in that they are not able to be harvested and can follow a farmer around. You can choose its gender, color, name it then place it on the farm. When they grow into adults, they can help out on the farm and they can also be trained to perform Pet Tricks by feeding them Dog Treats.
