abstract
  • JWD Tractors Ltd. was formed in 1992 when Marshall Tractors dealer, and former Leyland dealer, John Charnley and Sons, bought the stock and design rights to the Marshall tractors from Bentall-Simplex. They did not purchase the rights to the Marshall name as it belonged to Theakstones, who continued selling parts. They assembled tractors from the remaining stock, improving upon the quality of the product, but did not sell very many. They were still advertising in 2002, but it is unknown when they completely quit building tractors. Some of the models advertised may have never actually been built.
