After moving to Yamanakas, Indara immediately disliked her new home. In comparison to Sasuke and Itachi, the kids were loud and weak, adults were also loud, and everyone was so nosy. A few weeks into academy Indara decided she must always be better than Ino at everything, though she didn't bother telling Ino of her silent competition. She was quite shaken after the massacre, refusing to believe that Itachi who was always nice, polite and kind could do something like that, and the doubts stayed with her ever since. For a few weeks after the massacre she acted out, with frequent changes of her mood. All in all she still was the most unaffected Uchiha, having come up with many ways how someone else had impersonated Itachi. Since she was the most outgoing Uchiha in the academy she had got many admirers. Now enjoying more attention, Indara strived to be better not to let any of them down. She got especially close with two girls: Nara Ikane and a civie Yusutsuki Kana. Through the academy she kept herself int he top three in the rankings and graduated second only to Sasuke. She got on the team with Utatane Ichiru, Akabayashi Hisaya. She liked Ichiru, he was one of the most skilled people in their class and while Hisaya wasn't very high in rankings, his taijutsu was rather strong and he looked pretty cool.
