  • Hal, sometimes referred to as the Minstrel Chief, is a man who is said to have came to Albion during the age of the Old Kingdom through a rift in time and space. He used his extremely advanced and mysterious armour and weaponry to dominate his foes. What remains of his armour and weapons can still be found in the world today. In reality, "Hal" was John-117, the Master Chief, the protagonist of the Halo video game franchise. Although the character does not directly appear, having left Albion hundreds of years ago, his Armour and Sword are available as part of the "Otherworldly Content" that was bundled with the Fable II Limited Edition. The armour is known as Hal's Outfit, and includes boots, gloves, pants, a coat and a helmet, all designed to resemble the Master Chief's signature MJOLNIR Armour. Hal's Sword (a crystal replica of the distinctive Energy Sword used by the Chief's enemies in the Halo franchise) does a base 22 damage, roughly comparable to iron weapons in the game. However, it comes with three augmentation slots, and you can put in augments that increase the power of it and your protection, along with a ghoul augment, you'll never be able to get knocked out. The sword and armour are found in a chest next to the very first Cullis Gate you encounter in Fable II, in the former Chamber of Fate; the chest is locked unless you have entered the promotional code and downloaded the Otherworldly Content pack from Xbox Live Marketplace. Opening the chest also makes the title "Master Chief" available from the Bowerstone title vendor.

Recognizing Kovic as well as Jin Jié, Hal gladly let them inside the van where they met his technician. As they were treating Jin Jié's wounds, however, the reporter and his technician got excited as they believed they had gotten a world exclusive story. Kovic reacted by grabbing the technician's throat, saying it was important that Jin Jié's survival be kept a secret and that he would kill them if they did not. Alternatively, Kovic told them of Edward Cutler's corpse at the top floor of the Pudong Royal and that he had been shot for being a spy, saying that if they broke that story, they would be "as famous as Woodward and Bernstein." Hal and his technician did as Kovic said and instead reported on Cutler's treachery.
  • Hal worked as the record keeper for the Heimlich Hospital's Library of Records featured in The Hostile Hospital. He was also the eighth and first unofficial guardian of the Baudelaire orphans. In the The Hostile Hospital, Hal is disgraced by the Baudelaire children, when they steal his glasses and trick him into giving them the keys. The Baudelaires try to apologize, but Hal does not accept it. In the end, however, he forgives the children. When Dewey Denouement's partner went to the remains of the hospital to find any information/evidence, she found Hal in a dismal state, for the Library of Records was destroyed and there was no place for him to go. She then gave him shelter and a job as both cook and researcher at the Hotel Denouement He returns in The Penultimate Peril, working as the owner of an Indian Restaurant at The Hotel Denouement. His food is terrible. Sunny catches him in the middle of a suspicious conversation with one of the Denouement triplets. It is hinted that Hal may be a V.F.D. member, as he says the code "I didn't realize this was a sad occasion" to Mr. Remora, who failed to understand. It is unknown if he survived the Hotel Denouement fire.
  • Hal seems to have a rather irritated personality, especially among kids like Bessie who annoy him or - sometimes indirectly - attempt to get him fired (as the episodes Ben Screams for Ice Cream and Dogcatcher in the Rye reveal). Hal is voiced by Hal Rudnick, who, in addition to sharing the same name, appears to somewhat resemble the character.
  • Hal is the assistant caretaker of the Lost Mesa and husband to the caretaker Rosa. He is also the Mara's father. When the preserve fell he and his daughter Mara were the only ones to survive and escape.
  • A popular reporter on Gurhal's Channel 5. She is something of a chameleon; she can take on a serious tone at one moment, then become tongue-in-cheek the next. This unpredictable personality gimmick seems to attract enough people that she's become a popular icon with the citizens. Still, rumor has it that she may be a virtual idol, particularly because of her personality switches.
  • After the elevator in the Shay's apartment broke down, Hal was called in to repair it. After repairing the elevator and saying that it should work fine, it fell to the bottom of the elevator shaft. When Hal came again to fix the elevator, it was revealed that Hal was actually a tap dancer, which was most likely the reason the elevator wasn't fixed that time either. Hal appears in a Random Debate, which had Andrew Hill Newman wearing a wig and impersonating Sam, Chuck Chambers, and Spencer Shay. He was filling in for Freddie. He gives a long speech on ladies, much to the dismay of Spencer and "Sam." He also appears in an interview with Boofus and T-Bo. On an iCarly picture, it says that he lives in his car. Hal was played by an actor named Bryan Coffee.
  • Henry V is one of the kings who ruled during the latter half of the Hundred Years' War. He rose to political prominence during his childhood when his father usurped Richard II. He took part in the subjugation of Henry Percy's revolt and ordered several campaigns in France when he inherited the throne. Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War calls him Hal (ハル) throughout the script as a reference to his portrayal in William Shakespeare's play, Henry IV.
