  • Fucking awesome TV show where robots would fight each other for no reason Jacob occasionally mourns the loss of the programme.
  • Zoey challenges some computer geeks to a Bot battle, but first they must build a Bot to compete. The gang asks Quinn for help, but when Logan makes fun of her and everyone laughs, she gets upset and quits. So, they ask the Miles, the smartest guy at PCA to help, but on one condition: Nicole must go on a date with him.
  • The series involved teams of amateur and professional roboteers who made their own robots to fight against each other in both friendly and tournament matches. • Robot Wars is a British television game show which was originally broadcast from 1998 until 2004, and was revived in 2016 to continue for two more series. The idea of Robot Wars came from a US-based robot combat competition which ran from 1994 until 1997. The show has run for nine UK series, with a tenth being recorded this year, as well as two series of Robot Wars Extreme, and the one-off series Robot Wars Revealed. Several international series of Robot Wars were also produced.
  • In 1992, a man called Marc Thorpe thought up the idea of Robot Wars after he tried to build a remote controlled vacuum cleaner, with bad results. At the same time, Marc was working as a senior designer for LucasToys. Earlier in the year, he pitched a concept for fighting vehicles to a major toy company. The response was strangely indifferent. All that was said was "some day someone is going to figure out how to do this."

Having peaked so early in its first full season with the original presenter, Jeremy Clarkson. Once Craig Charles took up the vacant position of presenter after the first series, the show was mainly popular because most guys like to see things smashed up and thrown around while being set on fire. Although you may think that nerdy virgins would be most keen on the show, most of the contestants were middle aged builders, plumbers, electricians and engineers that all had a wife and kids (more than you will ever get), and most of the viewers were fathers and sons. The show was eventually cancelled in 2004 after so much media controversy surrounding the naming of the ‘House Robots’. It transpired that the House Robots (that were made by Jonathan Pearce, who was also the narrator) were actually all named after sexually suggestive phrases, subtle euphemisms and much, much darker material.

The show was originally broadcast on BBC Two on Friday evenings for the first four series, moving to BBC Choice on weekday evenings for the fifth and sixth series and both series of Extreme, with all four series being repeated on BBC Two in its regular Friday timeslot shortly after the original broadcast. For the seventh series, the show moved to Five and was broadcast on Sunday evenings. The rebooted series of Robot Wars aired on BBC Two once again, this time on a late-peak Sunday evening timeslot with repeats the following Monday night in the UK, and the following Wednesday night in Northern Ireland. Both series of Robot Wars Extreme were repeated on digital channel Dave between 2010 and 2011, and have since been repeated again on Challenge from November 2015 and January 2016 respectively. The Second Wars also enjoyed a repeat run on Challenge in May/June 2014, before Challenge began showing repeats of Series 5 in November 2015, Series 6 in January 2016 and Series 7 in March 2016. H2 also started repeating Series 3 and 4 in January 2016.

At the same time, Marc was working as a senior designer for LucasToys. Earlier in the year, he pitched a concept for fighting vehicles to a major toy company. The response was strangely indifferent. All that was said was "some day someone is going to figure out how to do this." One day, Marc took the vaccum apart and thought it could be used as a dangerous toy. He thought that this was the answer to his problem at work. He could have events where people would build remote controlled vehicles to fight against each other. Marc decided to call this Robot Wars. Merchandising revenue from licensing would be the principle revenue stream. . .i.e. toys. Robot Wars would own the licensing rights to mechanical athletes that others would build to enter the competitions. A month before the event, Marc forms a partnership with Sm:)e Communications (Now Profile Records) for financial support. The event had 17 robots and 1000 people in the audence. It was held in San Francisco, at the Fort Mason Center. It was very successful, and so three more annual events where made, But unfortunatly Marc and Profile Records are disagreeing over partnership rights, and the forth event was almost canceled, but it takes place with 74 robots, and everybody hungry for more. (This event is in a Robot Wars video: Robot Wars special edition double pack, as well as the First World Championship.) Afterwards, in 1998, Profile Records issues a court order preventing Marc Thorpe from holding any more Robot Wars events, but they team up with Profile teams up with Mentorn Broadcasting to produce, film and broadcast a Robot Wars TV event overseas in the U.K.
