The race was won by Scuderia Ferrari driver Michael Schumacher with Fernando Alonso for Renault F1 in second and Juan Pablo Montoya of McLaren-Mercedes in third. It is, to date, the last Formula One Grand Prix to be held at the Imola Circuit.
