  • The explosion does not deal damage, it is purely cosmetic.
  • Explosive Barrels were first invented in 1993, by the Union Aerospace Corp. They wanted to create a safe and non-hazardous way of being able to contain their toxic substances, but, being the UAC, screwed it all up and made them highly volatile. Though after they did so, they realised that the invention had potential for other uses, so they sold it to Ronald McDonald, who funded massive factories dedicated to producing them. Explosive barrels are now one of the most useful tools in the universe, and can be found everywhere, from Mars, to City 17, 18 and even 25.
  • The drop chance of the explosive barrel is approximately 1/100,000 per reward spot from hard clues. As hard clues have an average of 5 rewards, the per-clue chance of receiving at least one explosive barrel is approximately 1/20000 (0.005%). The explosion does not deal damage; it is purely cosmetic.
  • Explosive Barrel is an Event card in Resident Evil: The Deck Building Game. Appearing in the "Alliance" expansion deck, Explosive Barrel there are three copies.
  • The barrels are often used as easy ways to dispose of enemies or as puzzle solvers. They appear first on the pirate boats at the start of the game, and then appear in the Amazon jungle and even in the Drowned City. They explode when shot with one bullet and kill any enemies near them.
  • The Explosive Barrel was first released within The Sacrifice DLC and has an explosive effect that is a combination of the gas can and the propane tank. It is immobile and thus requires careful consideration during game play. Explosive Barrels are usually found either in side-by-side pairs or individual barrels in close proximity to one another. When triggered, they have three damage effects: an immediate proximity blast (as per the mentioned propane tank), enduring flame (as per the gas can) and that of shrapnel whereby the barrel's remains are thrown into the air in a random direction. The area affected by two Explosive Barrels bursting is considerable and players must maintain a safe distance when these devices are set off.
