- Experimentation is an essential element of Crafting in SWG. Experimentation allows you to improve the properties of the item you are crafting. To experiment while creating an item you must be using the specialized crafting tool for the item (not the generic crafting tool) and must be standing near the appropriate crafting station.
- Megatron walks into the Repair bay. It's about to be Psykeout's lucky day... "Psykeout." Megatron rasps his name calmly. It appears the emperor is in one of his rare good moods. "I have an important task for you.." Megatron grins, anxious to get experiments running with his latest acquisition. Psykeout sits on the table where Shred once laid, the mild stains of her ener-fluid still evident in the metal. There are some things that just won't come out, no matter how hard you scrub. At the sound of Lord Megatron's voice, Psykeout freezes with his hand hovering just above the dent in the table. His optics shoot towards Megatron, while his head stays perfectly still, "Yes, Lord Megatron? How can I help you?" Megatron grins. It's obvious he's got something sinister up his sleeve. "I require experimentation ran with a particular substance." Megatron rasps, before considering if Psykeout has heard it.. But Megatron finally drops the name of his latest acquisition. "Nucleon. I require hard data on all of its effects." Psykeout nods solemnly, his optics narrowing slightly, "What is known of this substance, Lord Megatron?" Megatron wipes the grin of his face, and turns to look you straight in the optics. It appears what the emperor has to say next is of the gravest of importance. "Drastic mechanical changes result as Nucleon is an incredible power source. It enables us to function without refuel and provides boosts in strength and power. Administration of Nucleon will result in the fusion of transformation circuitry as it transforms into nucleon storage inside the Mech. It is characterized by dangerous glow. " With a grim look, Megatron rasps, "It goes without saying that it should be handled using the upmost care." It looks like Megatron isn't joking around at all. Psykeout laces his fingers together, nodding slowly, "How was this substance discovered and who else knows of its existence? Have the Autobots heard a whiff of information? "Perhaps." Megatron rasps, in response to Psykeout's question as to if the Autobots have heard about the Nucleon. "I acquired it from a mech named Fumik Tzu. I have known of its power for some time, even before he approached me." Megatron indicates he knew of Nucleon before he came into possession of it. Getting back to the subject at hand, "You are to conduct small-scale experiments using Nucleon. Choose only the weakest empty to ensure easy termination of the subject. NO Decepticon is to be administered this substance without my direct authorization." Megatron places special emphasis that Psykeout is NOT supposed to experiment on any Decepticon. Of course, it goes without saying that an Autobot is equally off limits. Psykeout arches an optic ridge, "Autobots are off limits," He paces back and forth for a few moments, then looks back to Megatron, "So, if I were to infect an Autobot, I would be cannoned? Just as though I had infected another Decepticon?" Megatron rasps angrily, exclaiming in a loud, raspy voice, "Why would administering my Nucleon to .. an AUTOBOT even cross your processing core? This nucleon is MINE. It will be used to DEFEAT the Autobots once and for all! Not to HELP them!" Megatron keeps most of his anger in check, withholding a physical response. Psykeout takes a step back, "If it were changed just right, it could be used to destroy an Autobot, Lord Megatron. That is all I was thinking." Megatron seems somewhat intrigued for a moment, but dismisses Psykeout's suggestion. "I will not take that chance, Psykeout. It is true that I will use the Nucleon to destroy the Autobots - however, it is my super-powered Decepticons that will do so." Megatron rasps, choosing the path of Brute Force. Psykeout nods, "Understood, Lord Megatron." Megatron rasps, "Goood." With a click of his radio, Megatron orders: "Bring in the subjects." A cage of empties is wheeled in by a Decepticon, who quickly salutes Megatron and leaves. It appears Megatron has already rounded up the first group of weakling empties. These piles of trash appear as though their spark could be ended even by Psykeout's hands on the battlefield. And that's WITH the empty trying to put up a fight. Psykeout looks over the empties, then back to Megatron, "You honestly think that /these/ are suitable candidates? I understand that you want to use ones that are weaker, but I still have some pull in Dead End. Also, I didn't realize that you would be present for my...experiments. Or, do you not have faith in my fighting ability?" Megatron replies with a scoff, "Of course I am, Psykeout. I wish to observe the effects as they occur." Megatron sounds like he wants first hand view of what the Nucleon does. And it's not like Megatron doesn't have faith in Psykeout's fighting ability.. he's just not sure HOW strong this Nucleon will really make them. "You should be pleased that I wish to observe your work, Psykeout." Megatron continues, content to remain in the repair bay. Psykeout nods slowly, moving towards the door, "Lord Megatron, I have other things to attend to at this moment. I will send you a live-action video at the time that I perform the experiments, as well as provide a full report of the Nucleon's reactions when I am finished." Megatron stares his red optics at Psykeout. "Do not disappoint me Psykeout." That's all Megatron has to say on the matter, allowing Psykeout to take his leave. Psykeout disappears into the bowels of the Empire.
- Previous Text: Greetings.If you are in possession of this missive then you have chosen to assist in the collection of the entity known as the Harbinger. I thank you for your offer and welcome any assistance that you may be able to provide.I am sure that my colleague, Vincadi, has imparted the details of the challenges we face in regards to this endeavor, and I am pleased to see that you still possess the gumption to stand by our side. As you are likely aware, the Virindi loyal to my cause have shunned the Quiddity's yoke, and have begun attempts to ascertain the truths of the self. Vincadi has become adept at expression and free thought.He desired to make contact with your species in order to study your forms and learn what makes you each so unique. Thus far he has learned that it is mostly attributed to your emotions. He particularly enjoys the smile that sometimes graces your faces. I digress. Since Levistras's failure I have been under harsh scrutiny. Virindi do not register personality. Virindi do not lie. Virindi are not capable of masking thought, and yet I have achieved ability with each of these. I have become a thinking entity, and my experimentation has been further because of these new feelings. I am pleased.Recent incarnations of testing have yielded more potent, and individually destructive iterations on previous successes. For example: The Drudges that have recently been integrated into the wild are my latest accomplishment. Conversely the Banderlings seem to be a natural progression of their species. The Drudges have always offered a unique, and complex specimen. Their cranial cavities are large, containing a grey matter that is equally as large. However, the grey matter seems to have been victim to a cruel punishment of nature as the potential of the species is diminished by an inability to form coherent thought for any length of time. I have found, through years of testing that rote can circumvent the failings of nature and thus alter the intelligence of the Drudge to mimic a learned, or programmed response. This had been my greatest success; however, with the assistance of an Energy Source, recently discovered in a remote laboratory, I have been able to accurately imprint the seeds of personality to some drudges with which I tamper. The greatest of these results roam the dire wilderness areas of this physical plane. With these successes and the successes I have achieved with study on others of my species I have come to the ultimate conclusion that this energy source is capable of releasing the greatest potential in any being. Thus in the interest of scientific curiosity I am endeavoring to acquire a great specimen to either prove, or disprove my theory. It is to that end that I have sent Vincadi to interact with you, and his words have obviously swayed you in some fashion as you have at the very least agreed to view our proposal. Many of the new variants that have made an appearance on the surface of this physical plane have been my doing, other are not. I wish a collection of minor specimens so that I may track down these specimens in their natural habitat when the proclivity to test these subjects arises. The greatest of these specimens is the entity that you Isparians refer to as the Harbinger. In order to prove your dedication to assisting me in this undertaking I require that you first provide me with a token that proves you wish to assist me once and for all. Vincadi will collect these objects and has been given the necessary understanding to reward you greatly for your efforts. Should you choose to accept this undertaking read further. If not, cease. I am aware that you have an obsession with improving yourselves, you never seem to be completely satisfied until you attain the pinnacle that nature will allow you, and so I wish to offer you assistance in achieving that potential. My reward is simply that. I will further your ability in whichever of the skills you desire. Vincadi will channel the knowledge to you once you have chosen which skill you wish to advance. To do this you must provide a leaving of one of the following species. The object you offer will correspond to the skill you desire to enhance. Choose one and only one and I will assist you on reaching your maximum, natural, potential. If you are already at your maximum natural potential then Vincadi's efforts will fail, he is not as experienced as I and cannot bring you beyond your natural potential.Of course, this is only the first of your efforts. The bulk of your venture will come when you enter into the tunnels that we have established to the Harbinger's lair. Be warned that we have enemies. These enemies have established a network of tunnels of their own. We have assaulted their efforts to ensure that the specimen can be collected without being corrupted, in turn they have invaded our access points.They are lead by a potent mage, who has also circumvented our control over the portal flux. While this is consternating, I am more interested in the acquisition of the specimen, and therefore desire that you eliminate their forces only as a secondary measure.
