With the light of the Force, a Jedi can either purge or contain Dark Side manifestations or nexus points, whether in places, spirits, or even living persons, though sometimes to detrimental effect. Force Light can also be used to sever the bond between a Sith battlelord and his or her followers. This ability is thought to be rare and generally only able to be used by the most powerful and skilled Jedi Masters since it takes a good deal of power and concentration to use effectively. However since Darksiders have virtually no defense against a properly executed use of Force Light other than trying to overpower it, it remains one of the most potent abilities available to Lightsiders who are able to master it.
