In particular, Space Ranger Rick Starr was, in DC's primary reality, a classic science fiction hero from the 1950s. In his unaltered history, he is a wealthy heir who uses his fortune to make himself the Sol system's defender. Various versions of DC's comics depict this occurring in the 22nd century.
