| abstract | - Law Enforcement Online (LEO) is a global, virtual private network — an intranet exclusively for the law enforcement community, which provides secure dissemination of Sensitive But Unclassified information. It provides cost-effective, time-critical national alerts and information sharing to public safety, law enforcement, anti-terrorism and intelligence agencies in support of the global war on terrorism. LEO can be accessed by any approved employee of a Federal, State, or local law enforcement agency, or approved member of an authorized law enforcement special interest group. LEO provides a communications mechanism to link all levels of law enforcement throughout the United States.
