This form was apparently influenced by a god of in the area that bore resemblance to a camel. However, the god is not amongst those that have been explicitly mentioned by name in-game, leaving the nature of this god unclear. It is also possible that Aristarchus simply meant Akthanakos imitated the style of the Menaphite gods by assuming a desert animal-headed humanoid, and not a specific god. However, a poll released by Jagex on 26 July 2010 made specific reference to the god, including the statement "some in the desert insist he's real!" This would suggest that the god actually exists, or is believed by some Kharidians to exist. The Camel God is mentioned in Above the Lore- Ozan, Ariane, and Sir Owen. When talking about the Desert Pantheon, a mod stated "There are eight of them, but that's not including the Camel God."
