The Kingfisher was designed to fulfill small-unit air assault, reconnaissance, and observational roles in military aviation responsibilities, and the OH-30 is a highly versatile airframe with hardpoints and a modular superstructure that have spawned a number of specialized variants to adapt to an evolving battlespace; a number of variants were in use by both the Bastion and C.O.G. militaries.
