  • Mercedes Benz Ambulance (King Size)
rdfs:comment
  • The King Size Matchbox Mercede-Benz Binz Ambulance, like its mainline counterpart (which it predates by a year), represents a Binz ambulance on a Mercedes chassis. This was a common arrangement at the time; most Binz ambulances have used Mercedes chassis, with recent Binz ambulances typically using the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans as their basis.. The model features an opening rear and front doors. An easily-lost patient on a stretcher fit in the rear.

This was the first King Size model offered by Matchbox which was not a model of a truck or tractor, appearing as K-6 for 1967. When the King Size models were split into Super Kings and Speed Kings, the model was reassigned to slot K-26, to keep it with the other Speed Kings models. Speed Kings model numbers were rearranged again for 1977, and the Mercedes Benz Ambulance moved to slot K-63. For 1979 the model was catalogued as part of the Super Kings range.
