  • Clem Proctor (October 16, 1928 - November 15, 1994) was a NASCAR driver from Paramount, CA. He competed in nine Sprint Cup Series events in his career, earning one top-ten. He was also a competitor on the West Series. Proctor's debut came during the 1960 season, when he competed at Darlington. Starting 39th in the field of forty-eight, Proctor completed all but twenty-six laps in the race to record a solid 13th place finish. Proctor went back to the West Coast to run two races during the 1961 season. It was a tough start to the year for the driver, starting 25th and finishing 24th in the field of twenty-seven at Riverside. But Proctor quickly recovered, churning out a career-best 6th place finish at Sacramento later in the year. Two more starts lined Proctor's year for the 1963 season, turning out for both Riverside races. He again struggled at the track early in the season, crashing to a 31st place finish. But Proctor was solid when the series returned to the track in June, finishing in 12th place and only ten laps behind the leaders. Proctor made his next start during the 1964 season, which also came at Riverside. Once again, though, a crash deterred Proctor's efforts as he wound up in 39th. Proctor made his next start during the 1966 season. Again competing within the twists and turns of Riverside, Proctor lost his engine past the halfway mark but still managed to record a midpack 24th place finish. Proctor did not return for quite a while, making his next start back at Riverside during the 1972 season. It was another tough day for the driver, losing his engine early in the race and finishing in 30th. Yet, Proctor's final race, which came in 1973 at Riverside, would turn out to be the worst of all for the driver. Another blown engine, this time just five laps into the race, left Proctor out of it and in 38th place.
