The Jedi turned out to be Count Dooku and he was able to catch him trying to steal his lightsaber. Dooku was surprised at his skill at stealth and decided to train him. Unfortunately, after only a few days, Dooku saw how pathetic his skills were. To punish him for wasting his time, Dooku cut off Argonn's arms and stabbed him in the heart. He then crushed his spine and left him to die. By sheer force of will, Argonn was able to crawl to the next town before collapsing. he was soon discovered and given medical attention. After almost a year in a coma, Argonn eventually regained consciousness. To his surprise, he discovered that his arms, heart, and spine were now cybernetic. He also discovered that his near-death experience had somehow heightened his skill with the Force: his stealth had become strong enough to let him become invisible and inaudible and his other skills had advanced to the level of a Jedi Knight. To test his new power level, he destroyed all of the medical droids tending to his wounds. He then decided to track down Dooku and prove that he was now worthy of being called a Sith. Dooku was so amazed at his sudden improvement that he made Argonn his new apprentice. Along with training him in lightsaber combat and using the force, Dooku also taught him about assassination, which because of his stealth, he excelled at, even becoming better than Dooku. Unfortunately, Dooku's teaching had too much of an effect on Argonn, who started assassinating people at random. Worried that Argonn would decide to kill him, Dooku told him that his training was complete and that their time together was over. With his training completed, Argonn then set his sights on becoming a Dark Lord.
