  • Sergeant Dryops was a Philistinian career soldier. He led Pheidas' squad during the latter's tour of duty in occupied Moab. Dryops was tough and experienced and tried his best to keep his squad alive. Although typically racist toward the Moabites (referring to them as "ragheads" in reference to their head scarfs), he did not actively hate them or try to be provocative toward them.

abstract
  • Sergeant Dryops was a Philistinian career soldier. He led Pheidas' squad during the latter's tour of duty in occupied Moab. Dryops was tough and experienced and tried his best to keep his squad alive. Although typically racist toward the Moabites (referring to them as "ragheads" in reference to their head scarfs), he did not actively hate them or try to be provocative toward them. When Dryops' squad was traveling to Hierosolyma in a convoy of APCs and were attacked by a murder bomber, he remained calm and ordered his squad to deploy outside the vehicle in a loud commanding voice. The squad did so, preventing further Moab attack and then providing first aid to wounded Philistine soldiers and Moabite civilians alike.
